A/N: Some of these will be about the movies as well.
1. It has a very interesting plot.
2. The subplots are never forced or boring.
3. The ending is more realistic. (Using the term in a broad sense; Meyer has an unrealistic ending in that nobody died in the face-off between the good guys and Volturi, people actually died in the battle of Hogwarts.)
4. Rowling's dementors are based off of depression that she has struggled with.
5. Aside from the dementors, she created other creatures as well, such as the hippogriff.
6. She also researched over a hundred already existing mythical creatures, such as the veela.
7. She respected the traditional creatures.
8. Hagrid.
9. The fact that there is somebody everyone can relate to, whether it's one of the golden trio, the Marauders, Fred or George, Luna, Ginny, Tonks, Arthur... The list goes on and on. They are more realistic than any characters from Twilight.
10. Eloise Midgen.
11. The raw emotion that you feel every time you read the book. I've read Order of the Phoenix about fifty times. I cry every single time, even though I know it's coming. Each time, it catches me by surprise no matter how much I prepared for it.
12. It shows a realistic large family. Coming from someone who has a large family. I have seven siblings.
13. Yes, there are some cringey fanfics, but some are really good. The sheer variety of it boggles the brain. There are very few ideas in Twilight that you can take and make your own, unlike Harry Potter.
14. Harry Potter shows what friendship is. Ron and Harry neglected Hermione in their third year. They realised their mistake and they became friends again. Bella doesn't do that! She completely forgot about her friends because of Edward!
15. It shows that it's okay to be nerdy.
16. You can learn a lesson from every single character.
17. It has helped so many people through hard times.
18. A troll's brain is divided into five parts: the largest part is food, then violence. The last three are equally divided into: nose-picking, kittens, and keep thinking it's Tuesday.
19. There is so much love in it. Just because it's not a romance novel doesn't mean there's no love!
20. The actors and actresses in Harry Potter were extremely talented, right down to the eleven-year-olds in the first movie.
21. The sheer amount of research needed to write this book shows how much Rowling cares about her work. She created hundreds of different spells and almost all the names have something to do with the character. Voldemort means Flight of Death. Dolores Umbridge roughly translates to Shadow of Pain or Shadow of sorrow. Remus Lupin was named after one of the brothers in the Rome story, one of the brothers that was supposedly raised by wolves. (Romulus and Remus.) Lupin comes to us from the Latin word Lupus, which literally means Wolf.
22. The characters are flawed. In Twilight, the characters are supposed to be perfect or something. Nobody in Harry Potter has that unrealistic expectation.
23. So much imagination! She created an entire world!
24. It shows true friendship.
I will keep adding to this master list over time.
