A Look Inside My Life

Please, if you are a Twihard, don't judge. Don't think I jumped on the Harry Potter bandwagon. Let me explain a few things.

When I was six, my older brother, sister, and I lived to criticize Harry Potter. We said it was overrated and got into arguments about it without even knowing what the story was about.

Around that same time, my brother said that he wanted to read the books just so he knew what he was talking about. My sister and I, age 8 and 6 at the time, decided to read them as well.

We were hooked.

A 10-year-old, an 8-year-old, and a 6-year-old read all seven Harry Potter books over the course of a few months, checking them out of the library. For my brother's birthday the next year, he asked for the series. He got a paperback set of the first six. A few years later, he got a hardcover Deathly Hallows.

When I was around 11, I was told by several people that they thought I would like Twilight. I went into it with an open mind. I was not biased against it in any way, unlike when I started Harry Potter.

You can see what happened.

I read the first Twilight book. Last year, I forced myself to read the rest. I was appalled.

So when I write this, I write it knowing what it is like to hate Harry Potter. I went into it thinking it would be crap and came out of it obsessed.

I went into Twilight thinking it would be good. I came out of it disgusted.
