After a while, Thomas and Chuck went back to work, but I stayed by Newts side. And, surprisingly, Gally didn't get angry. Newt was looking dreadful all day. He refused to let anyone else go out into the Maze to find the boys.
He was terrified of the Maze.
I watched as Newt ran to all the returning Runners, not hiding his panic. Desperate for answers that none of the Runners could give. Sulking, he trudged back over to me.
"(Y/N), I never did get to say sorry about last night. Now please go get some dinner, I'll just stay here." He insisted.
"Nope. I'm not leaving you." I said.
"You have no choice."
"What do you m-AHH!" I feel myself fly through the air as Gally slings me over his shoulder. "What are you doing?"
"You need food." He says.
"But Newt needs me." I protest. He doesn't reply and we continue to the Kitchen in silence.

"Woah, (Y/N), having fun?" Winston asks.
"Do I look like I'm having fun? My friends are missing, my boyfriend is looking more and more like a zombie as time passes and my Slintheaded brother won't leave me alone."
"I left you alone all afternoon." I roll my eyes as he places me down. I grab an apple, take a bite, then make a break for it. "(Y/N), get back here!"
"Never!" I yell as I run back to Newt.
"I thought I told you to go eat." He says, running his hands through his hair.
"I'm not gonna let you stress alone, besides I brought an apple." Newt rolls his eyes. I hear rushed footsteps and turn to see Thomas and Chuck. "Where are they?"
"Why don't we send out a search party?" Thomas suggests.
"Bloody he-" Newt stopped himself; he closed his eyes for a second and took a deep breath. "We can't. Okay? Don't say it again. One hundred percent against the rules. Especially with the buggin' doors about to close." I grab Newts hand trying to calm him as Thomas spoke, it didn't help. "Shut your hole, Greenie!" He yelled. "Not a bloody week you've been here! You think I wouldn't risk my life in a second to save those lugs?"

I close my eyes and block out the rest of the conversation. When I opened them again Chuck was gone and Newt was starting to cry. I squeezed his hand in reassurance and we walked off together, leaving Thomas by the door. As we walked I heard the loud bang that signalled the closing of the doors.
"Newt!" We heard Thomas scream as we reached the Homestead. "They're coming! I can see them!" I turned and saw Newts face light up, I smiled at his new hope. We ran hand in hand to the doors. We made it half way when Newt muttered.
"Oh bloody hell, he's gonna do it."
"Do what?" I ask.
"Don't do it, Tommy! Don't you bloody do it!" He shouts.
"Do what?" My question is answered by Thomas' actions.

He ran into the Maze.
