Chapter 9

I woke up with tears in my eyes, then I remembered that today was the day. I got up from my bed glumly, and walked to the dining table and sat down. I saw Mitch looking at me, as if he wanted to comfort me, but I didn't feel like being comforted, we'd have to kill eachother in the end. I looked at Astrea, who was just looking down at the floor, "You guys, when you are in the arena, don't get to comforted by your allies, I don't want you to make the same mistake I did." Astrea said breaking the silence. "What do you mean?" I asked her looking at her. "You, you don't want to know." Astrea said standing up and walking out of the room.

I looked at her leave, and I looked down, twiddling my thumbs, since when did Astrea ACTUALLY care about us? "I'm not going to kill you first ok?" Mitch said breaking the silence once again. "Look Mitch, I don't even know what to DO or THINK anymore!" I said standing up, tears streaming down my eyes. "I know you don't look at me the same way Lilac!" Mitch bursted. "But it doesn't matter to me, I don't even care if I get killed by you, OR dying protecting you, it won't matter, because all I want, is for YOU to stay alive." I looked at him, well, that shut me up. I didn't know what to do anymore, hug him, slap him, all I knew, was that many tributes, even maybe US, are going to die.

I looked at my surroundings, I saw Jason looking at the Cornocopia intently, sweat being visible. I turned another direction, and I saw Mitch, looking at me with sadness in his eyes. My eyes wandered, searching for Jett, I saw Rachel, a tear rolling down her cheek, but she wiped it harshly and loosened her fingers from her grip. I looked at Jett, who was looking at me. I nodded, and he nodded back. I looked at the clock, which was counting down. 10,9,8,7 I looked at what I was wearing, I was wearing a black v-neck shirt, light brown jeans, black work looking boots, and a black jacket. 5,4,3,2,1......

I raced at the Cornucopia and I noticed I was the fastest. I grabbed a white bow with a bag of arrows and got a backpack too. I looked around to see that many people were already killing eachother. I could see the boy from District 3 was down. When he wasn't moving for a few seconds it showed his name and face on the screen, with a big red words saying:Ronald Sulmur: DEAD. I shook my head and noticed the girl from District 3 lunging at me with a small knife. I got my arrow out quickly and shot at her neck, which made her fall down.CESILIA BROWN:DEAD. I got her knife and ran out, and when I did, I saw the girl from District 6 coming at Rachel with a sword. I couldn't let her die, not like this, so I got my bow and shot at her in the neck. She collapsed and the giant screen said: LILY RAIN: DEAD I got her sword and asked Rachel, "Are you ok? Do you have a weapon?" She nodded showing her bow and some traps and said, "By the way, I'm allies with Jason, he's still looking in the cornucopia oh, and Jett is over there." She said pointing at Jett who was running towards me. I noticed he had a gash in his leg, and he was limping a little. "Here, let me have a look at it." Rachel said getting a bandage supply from her backpack. Jett and Rachel were both friends since second day in training, that's why he trusted her. Suddenly, the screen showed a battle going on. It was between Tiffany, and the girl from District 5. Huh? This is new, I never saw this in previous Hunger Games. Was it probably a new feature?(Pretend it is XD Btw I added this to, you know, make stuff intense >:3 Almost everything I do makes stuff intense XD Like....nvm continue with the story XD) I saw the girl from District 5 swing and try to hit Tiffany, but she dodged it and stabbed a small knife in District 5's skull, which made her fall to the ground. After a few seconds, the screen lit up saying: DELILA SPANE:DEAD I saw Jason grinning and coming towards me saying, "Lilac! Hi." "Sorry about your District partner." I said frowning at him. "Oh no, it's ok." Jason said giving me his best smile, but it didn't convense me. "Well, me and Jett had better go off, you ready to go Jett?" I asked looking at him and Rachel. "Yeah, I'll see you later Rachel!" Jett said as him and I were walking away.
