Chapter 11

"GET HER!" I heard Troy shout out. I turned to my right to see Troy coming at me at full speed. I widened my eyes as Troy swung his sword at me. I dodged it by inches, and began running away with Jett by my side. I heard footsteps behind me, I turned around, and saw Jerome and Mitch coming the same direction. Were they on my side? Or are they chasing me? "Friend or Foe!" Jett shouted out. "FRIENDS!" I heard Mitch and Jerome reply. I stopped, and turned around to see if we lost Troy, and we did. "Guys, we have to split up, look, I'll distract Troy, while the three of you go running." I said. "WHAT?! He'll tear you to pieces!" Mitch exclaimed. "Ahem, we are being filmed." I whispered to him. It was true, I looked at that big screen while I was running away from Troy. "But that is a really bad idea." Jett said. "Guys, I don't care, just GO!" I said glaring at them. I saw Jerome look at my with a sorry expression, and turned around. "Jett, here, take my backpack, and give me my bow." I said rushing. "Are you sure you want to do this?" Jett asked me. "GO!" I said snatching the bow from him. He looked at me, and said, "If you do live, let's meet up at the Cornucopia." I nodded sternly as Jett left., but Mitch stayed put. "GO." I shouted out, then I heard footsteps in the distance, I looked at Mitch with an expression full of pain, and ran towards the mountains, which weren't that far away.

I could hear Troy still running after me. When I got to the mountains, I began climbing them. I heard myself panting, feeling pure pressure on my shoulders. Then, I got to the top of them mountain, and I looked down to see if Troy gave up on me, but he didn't, he kept on climbing. I began dropping big rocks on him, but he was dodging all of them. Shit, what am I going to do now? I looked around frantically, I looked down from the mountain, then I saw a small lake. Oh god, but what if I missed it? Then I remembered, I didn't know how to swim. Then I saw Troy, who was running at me, and was away from me only by two feet. I didn't know what to do, but then I feel down backward, and when I did, I took out my bow, with an arrow ready. I waited for Troy to look down, then he did, BINGO! I shot at him while falling down, which hit his neck, and made him collapse. I sighed in relief, then I remembered I was falling down, before I could react, I felt something hit my back, and I noticed that the water and I made contact. I struggled to get up to the surface, but I couldn't, and so I slowly ran out of breath, and closed my eyes, as I knew this was the end of my life. (I could have ended it there, but I'm not that cruel XD)

Jett's P.O.V

I headed toward a small lake that was right in front of me. I tasted it, to see if it was salt, or fresh water. When I noticed it was fresh water, I filled one empty bottle. I shook it when I was done filling it, just to make sure it wasn't dirty, and it wasn't.

I looked up at the sun that was streaming down my face, giving me sudden warmth. Then I saw a small figure falling down from a mountan above me, I thought it was a bird, but then in a seconds before it hit the water, I noticed, that it was Lilac. When she hit the water, I awaited a few seconds, then it hit me, she didn't know how to swim.

I plunged into the water, swimming towards her. I saw her struggling, trying to swim, but she couldn't, and she stopped moving. I swam at her faster, until I got ahold of her arm, and struggled to get her up. You see, I'm not the strongest guy in District 4. I then remembered her and I were allies, and how I had a bit of feelings towards her, which made me swim up, and made me more confident. I was running out of breath, second by second, and felt my lungs screaming for air, until I got up and crashed into the surface. I pulled Lilac up onto land, shaking her. When she didn't respond, I checked her heart beat, which was getting slower by the second. I did CPR on her, skipping the mouth to mouth part. When she didn't respond, I gave in, and when I was about to do mouth-to-mouth with her, she suddenly spat water at my face.I saw her cough violently for a few seconds, until she stopped and said, "What happened?"

Mitch's P.O.V (When Lilac was running away from Troy)

I began biting my nails as I saw Troy catching up with Lilac on the screen. When she reached the top, she looked down from where Troy was climbing, and began throwing rocks at him, which missed him by inches. She looked around frantically, and looked down from the mountain, I didn't know what she was looking at, since the camera was focused on her. Then I saw Troy coming at her, and she fell backward. My heart skipped a beat when she did that, I thought she was commiting suicide. But then she took out her bow and an arrow quickly and shot Troy in the neck, and he collapsed to the floor. TROY SUBTILE: DEAD. It showed Lilac falling, and she hit the water, where I saw Jett in front of the lake. When he saw her, he plunged into the water. I looked at the screen, hoping Jett would save my baby girl. It seemed to take forever, and I began to loose hope. Then I saw Jett coming out of the water, with Lilac in his arms. He checked her heart beat, and looked at her with wide eyes, which made me even more nervous. He began doing CPR, and when he was going to do mouth-to-mouth with her, she spat out water, and began coughing. I sighed with relief when she woke up, I just hoped that she wouldn't be in ANY close calls.
