Chapter 7

~Time Skip~ (Not toward the games, hahaha)

"Yup, you are DEFINITELY going to impress the game makers." Mitch complained as we heading toward the arena. "Oh come on, they'll only give me a 10." I said rolling my eyes. "Hey, what did we bet on?" Astrea asked me. "Oh, yeah, about me getting a 12." I said growling. "Exactly." She said grinning. "I was just being sarcastic son of a bitch that time." I said joking around, and Mitch was laughing at that. "Well, fine." Astrea muttered. "HEY, it's not my fault." I remarked. Mitch was laughing even harder. "Oh shut up." I say pushing him playfully.

~In the Arena~

I looked around at all of the things that were lying there. I decided to grab the bow that I always used, which was the white one, I decided to go with the bows first, since I was pretty impressive with those. Even though I could be impressive, I was nervous that I would fuck up. But there was never a time that happened, so I believed in myself. I positioned myself, and gripped the bow firmly, and got the arrow in my hand, and I shot four fast arrows at four targets, and they were all perfect. I looked up at the game makers, and they had a grin in their faces, wanting me to continue my magic. I went and got a black sword, which I practiced in the second day, and I swung it around and hit the dummies, swinging their heads and arms off. It went the same when I used the small knives, hitting the targets right in the middle. I decided to end it with shooting again at the bow station, so I got a different bow, which was pure night black, and I could see my reflection in it, which meant it was made of steel. I got an some arrows, and I shot quickly at four targets, but that's when it happened. I saw an Avox girl walking right in front of the fourth target, and the arrow shot her neck, and she fell, blood spilling everywhere. I stood there, frozen, I slowly looked up at the gamemaker's faces, which were gaping in surprise. I let go of the bow, and I ran out of the arena.

"So, how did it go?" Astrea asked me as I got in the room. "Don't ask." I said shoving her out of the way, going into my room. I locked the door, and sat on my bed. I couldn't believe it, I just KILLED an Avox. What were they going to think? What will they do? Has this even happened before? What is EVERYONE going to think? Will they see me as a drained murderer? All these terrible thoughts ran through my head.

I suddenly heard a door open and someone say, "Where's Lilac?" Mitch. "In her room." Astrea answered with an annoyed tone. I heard a knock on my door and Mitch say, "Lilac? I know you're in there, open the door." "NO! Leave me alone!" I answered with a hoarse voice. "Lilac, I know what happened, open the door." Mitch said in a casual tone. "NO! You can't make me!" I said reluctant. ".....Lilac...please..." I looked at myself in the mirror, and my eyes were red and puffy. "Fine....you win..." I said giving in and unlocking the door, and opened the door. I guess I looked a bit messed up because Mitch looked at me as if I lost a leg. I looked down and sat on my bed and put my hands on my face saying, "Mitch, it's all my fault, how will they look at me now?"
"I really don't know, but I will look at you as you are, which is being Lilac." He said sitting next to me. I looked at him, and I hugged him, something I wished I'd never do. "Thank you Mitch, for everything." I said smiling. I felt him hug me back, "No need to thank me, and oh, Lilac, when the games start, I won't kill you right away ok?" I looked up at him and said, "Don't worry, I won't either."
"Ahem, if you lovebirds aren't busy, I would like to know how it went." I heard Astrea say. I looked at her, she had her arms crossed. "Oh, sorry, alright, I'll tell you." I said blushing slightly and getting up.

I looked at the tv screen sadly, waiting for the training scores to appear. It showed Maria's training score first, which was, a 7. I couldn't believe it, I wonder what she did wrong. I bet she was having a hissy fit right now at the spot, while Troy got a good score of 8. I suddenly looked at the screen, and Mitch's Score came first, and he got a 9. I looked at him, I was sitting next to him, and I gave him a pat on the back. I looked at the screen, to reveal my score, which was a.....12?! I looked at the screen as if it were a surprising situation, and yes, it apparently was. I heard Astrea cheer me on, and I felt Mitch hug me. "A 12! That's great Lilac!" Mitch exclaimed. "Well, you got a score of 12, you won the bet." Astrea huffed behind me, but she still congratulated me. "But, how can they give me a 12? I mean, I KILLED an Avox!" I said, thinking about what just happened. "Well, they probably didn't care about it and they focused on what you did." Mitch suggested after hugging me. "Wow, just, WOW." I said jumping up and down. A 12, and when I looked at the list, I realized I was the only one with that score, and that it was the highest.

But then it hit me, I would be the one everyone would go after, well shit, and I was really excited about my score. "Well, the only thing I have to worry about is the career pack chasing after me now that I got THAT score." I stated. "Yeah, but you'll get them, since they got a lower trianing score than you did." Mitch said with a slight smile. "I guess so." I said looking down. "Well, the last thing we have to train for now, is the interview." Astrea said changing the subject. "Oh come on." I groaned rolling my eyes. "Well, I don't know about you Lilac, but I think i'm going to be a show stopper." Mitch said grinning at me. "Oh shut up." I said shoving him around playfully.
