Today's hard

ok so this is one of the longest chapters i have so far, hope you like it

last time

"Maya?" Gus says after a minute or two.

"Yeah?" I say but keep my eyes on the restaurant, which is only about 10 meters away now.

"What was wrong, back in the car?" I sigh looking down.

"You don't have to tell me, I... I just know your upset and I hate seeing you like that" he says quietly we've both stopped talking now and his hands grab mine pulling me closer to him.

"I...I- I, I can't do this right now I say" tears prick my eyes as I quickly pull my hands from his grip and turn around and start sprinting towards my cabin,

I hear Gus call my name then shot to Rocky but, I know that they won't catch up to me because I'm on the track team and I'm one of the best sprinters in the school. I'm faster then Gus and a bit faster then Rocky. Tears stream down my checks and my breath quickens, not because I'm out of breath from running but because I'm getting a panic attack. I want, to turn around and run back to Rocky but I don't want to while everyone's there. I know Rocky would come somewhere more private with me if I asked but I don't want to ruin the first day of this trip. I walk up the little patch to the cabin and take out the key opening the door. I let out a shaky breath my breathing slowing down a bit. I unlock the door and walk up the stairs. I drop my bag onto the couch and pull out my phone which is buzzing I look at the caller ID seeing Slothscky which is my nick name for Rocky ever since he told me he loves sloths which was like a month after we became friends. I sigh and click decline, It'll be easier for me just to send him a text.

To Slothsckys

I'm fine don't worry I'm somewhere safe I just can't deal with this all at the moment. I'll be back at the cabin tonight have fun and don't worry about me

I put my phone down on the couch and go get the fire started. My phone buzzes just as I finish it. I sigh picking it up its Rocky calling again, I click decline not a minute later my phone buzzes twice signalling I've got 2 messages one from Gus and another from Rocky

From Slothscky

Maya where the hell are you, and I know your not fine. Just tell me and I'll come on my own you and I can have just a best friend day ok. I'm not gonna be able to enjoy today if I don't know where you are. I'm gonna be worried the whole fucking day if I don't know where you are especially if I know your no ok. Ok so just tell me, so I know and so I can tell the others and Gus who's freaking out by the way he's saying its all his fault, though. Ross and Riker are trying to calm him down Ok, so just let me know where you are.

Ok I'm not fine but I'm safe ok, I promise, I just can't do this today Rock, I can't handle all of this its to much, Tell the others and Gus I'm safe and I'll see them at dinner, I wont need a lift I can just walk back to the cabin. Tell Gus it's not his fault.

I sigh sending it, I know I didn't put where I am because I know he will come here and I just don't know what to do at the moment. I open Gus's message

Maya are you ok? Where are you? Rocky is completely freaked out he's pacing up and down and running his hand over his face and though his hair. I'm freaking out to Maya please just let one of us know where you are, it doesn't even have to be me or Rocky just someone ok. Please I'm so sorry I asked about what was wrong and I pushed the other thing, please just let me know where you are or if your ok
