8: Sick Day

Karkat jumped onto my lap a few days later, grinning.

"What?"

"I WANNA GO TO THE PARK!"

"The park?" I tilted my head.

"I WANNA GO! PLEEEEAAAASE?"

I sat up straight a bit more.
"Then why don't you ask Dave to take you? You both have a lot of fun together."

Karkat shook his head and put his paw over my nose. "I WANNA GO WITH YOU!"

I felt a smile creep up on my face.
Dave had been spending so much time with him lately, I've been feeling like Karkats been forgetting all about me..
I guess I was wrong.

I grinned and picked him up, hugging him softly in my arms. "Sure Karkat, we can go to the park."

He grinned and licked my nose before running off back into his room.
Minutes later, he came out with socks on.
I couldn't help but laugh when I picked him up.
"Let's go!"

I carried him out of the house, pulling out my phone. "Wanna invite Eridan and Sollux?"

"YEAH!"

I dialed Feferi's number, waiting for her to answer.
"Hello?"

"Uh Feferi? Hi, it's me, John!"

"I saw the caller ID. Of course it's you, silly." She giggled.

I laughed a little, "Anyways, Karkat and  I are heading to the park. We were wondering if you and your boys wanted to go along with us?"

"Um.. Maybe Eridan can go.." She said quietly, "Sollux isn't feeling good at the moment.. He's a little sick.."

"Oh no! How'd that happen?"

"I have no clue.. But I can ask Eridan if he'd like to go. I need to stay home and watch over Sollux. You could take Eridan if you want.."

I walked to my car, opening the door and putting Karkat inside. He buckled his seatbelt.
"Oh.. Uh, sure! I can go pick him up if you want?"

"That'd be great! Let me go ask him.."

There were quiet muffles on the other end.
"Put Kar on the phone." Eridans voice suddenly said. I guess Feferi have him the phone.

I handed the phone to Karkat. "It's Eridan. He wants to talk to you."

Karkat looked at the phone confused before taking it and putting it to his ear.
"HELLO???.....WHAT DO YOU MEAN???.....UM....BUT!-....ILL ASK!"
Karkat looked up at me, "CAN I GO OVER THERE INSTEAD? I WANNA SEE SOLLUX!" He pleaded.

"But he's sick. I don't want you catching anything."

"E-ERIDAN SAID HES NOT CON.. CONTAGUS?? CONTAAAAAGIIIIUUUUS? THAT WORD ABOUT SICK BEING SPREADED!"

"Contagious." I said.

"YEAH THAT! HES NOT THAT!" Karkat look up at me, with cute eyes that I couldn't say no to.

"Oh.. Well.. I guess we could go?"

"I CAN GO!" Karkat said happily into the phone. He handed it back to me. I put it to my ear, and asked Feferi for her address.
After she gave it to me, I hung up and drove over to her house.

It was actually very big for just the three of them to live there. Karkat stared at it in awe.
"WHOA..."

I got out and opened the door for Karkat. He ran out and up to the door, trying to jump up to ring the doorbell.
