About two days after, when Karkat was taking a nap, I told Dave what Karkat had said.
"His funeral?" Dave raised an eyebrow. "What the hell??"
"I know, right!?" I was dumbfounded. "I don't want to believe that Sollux might... Y'know... But Karkat sounded so sure of it.. You don't... You don't think Karkat got him sick somehow, do you? Oh god.. What if he did??"
"No way.." Dave sat down beside me. "Karkat couldn't.. He got all of his shots before even meeting Sollux. You told me that.. There's no way Karks could have gotten this Sollux troll sick."
I groaned and sat back, "I've been trying to help Feferi, by doing more research to help but neither of us know what it could be. The stuff that says what it is just doesn't make sense.."
Dave stayed silent for a minute, "What do you mean by it doesn't make sense?"
"The things that could have gotten Sollux sick.." I reached over to the coffee table, pulling my laptop onto my lap. I opened it and typed in my password niccage413 and went onto a website.
Dave leaned closer to read what was on the screen. He pointed, "That?"
"Yeah! It's the one of the things he's showing symptoms for, but Feferi said there is no way he could get that."
"Why not? It seems pretty accurate. You said this chick has a highblood troll too, right?"
"Yeah. Eridan. Sollux couldn't have eaten his food though. Feferi makes sure it's locked up every time after she feeds them, and whenever she leaves them alone. It's never unlocked."
"Okay, that doesn't make sense then.. It's so stupid though how trolls can get deathly sick just by eating a different type of food meant for another troll. This blood thing is so stupid.."
"I know.. Good thing we only have Karkat. We can NEVER get his food mixed up. You know what's funny? Red blooded trolls are the only ones that can actually eat human food."
"Really?" Dave looked at me, shocked.
"Yeah. I guess since they're rare and 'mutated' they can do things other trolls can't. It's fascinating. I read all about it."
"That's cool. I can finally have a buddy to share all my favorite foods with." Dave leaned back into the couch, crossing his arms behind his head. He propped his legs up on the coffee table.
"Oh hell no.." I pushed his legs off, "Karkat is not eating any of your junk food."
"What are you? The food police?" Dave chuckled.
I crossed my arms, pouting. "In this house, yes. Karkat is only allowed sweets and stuff when he deserves it."
"Oh let loose Egbert. He's not a baby."
"He technically is." I stuck my tongue out at him. "More of a toddler.."
"Whatever." Dave stood up, "So a little bird told me that Karkat wants you to take him to a zoo."
"A zoo??" I laughed. "Who is this little bird?"
"Karkat." He smiled. "You should take him. Although, I don't think Zoo's have crabs. You might have to take him to an aquarium instead."
"Crabs?" My head tilted. "Why crabs?"
"Dunno." Dave shrugged. "He really wants to see crabs after watching a documentary about them on Animal Planet. He's like obsessed with them now."
