2: New Home

After a few days at the animal hospital, I was finally able to bring Karkat to my house.

Karkat only responded with his own name and some word with a D. Feferi and I weren't able to understand what he was trying to say. It was cute though when he tried to speak.
I brought him into the house, well, I brought the animal carrier he was resting in into the house.

"Welcome to your new home Karkat. Gosh, I don't even know if you can understand me or not.." I sighed and placed the carrier down in the middle of the living room floor.

I opened the gate and sat on the floor, waiting for him to come out.

"Come on Karkat, don't be shy!" I smiled and looked in.

He was sitting in the back, just staring at me.
"Aw, don't give me that look dude! Come on out, I have some treats that Feferi gave me. The nice girl from the hospital who took care of you! Remember those little treats she gave you?"

His little ears perked up a bit, and he waved his tail slightly. I smiled and reached over to a bag.
Feferi had given me (low blood) troll food to last for about a month, and a small bag of treats. 
I took a treat out of the bag, and set it down at the opening of the cage.

He slowly walked forward a bit and snatched the treat, quickly going to the back of the carrier again.

"Seriously?" I groaned and looked inside, seeing Karkat nom on the tweet.
Cute.

"Come on Karkaaaat. Work with me here.. I'll give you another one of you come out."

"?!!?" He gave me a surprised look.

"Yes, I'll give you another of you come out. Come on, pleeeeease?"

He sat for a moment before slowly crawling to the opening of the cage. He peaked out and stared at the carpet, studying it as if it was going to attack him.

"Please?"

He placed one paw onto the carpet, but quickly stepped back into the carrier. He waited a few more seconds before walking out completely and sitting in front of me.
He pointed to his mouth.

"A deals a deal." I smiled and handed him another treat.

Karkat grinned and took it into his mouth happily...only to run back into the carrier.

"Fuck!" I groaned. So close..

"FK?" I heard Karkat. Wait, shit.. Is he trying to say 'fuck'?

"Uh.. N-No! That's a bad word! Don't try to say it.."

"FCK!"

"Oh no.." Jeez, he catches on quickly.
"Uh.. Oh!" I got an idea and stood up, grabbing the remote. I turned on the TV and put on Dora the- Wait, no.. Sesame Street? Yeah, that's better..

I flipped through the channels until I could find Sesame Street.
Sesame Street! The show that everyone watched to learn their ABC's and numbers!

Karkat quickly ran out of the cage and climbed on top of the carrier. He sat down and ate his treat silently as he stared at the screen.

"Wait.. You know what Sesame Street is?!" I asked him.
He looked at me and nodded.

"Whoa.. Cool." I smiled and sat down on the floor next to his carrier, watching the tv with him.

A while into a few episodes, I checked the time.

"Wow.. It's pretty late.." I yawned and looked at Karkat. He was already shutting his eyes, but jumping awake to watch the tv.

"Karkat, it's time for bed." I turned off the tv and got the rest of his things out, courtesy of course from Feferi.
