Chapter 8: Breaking the rules of biology

3 weeks Later:
I was seriously slacking. It took me three weeks to come up with 2 options of pure  cold, sweet revenge. I finally stopped feeling bad two weeks ago and got to thinking.
Option one: Mess up their hair again
Option two: Period Mishap
Now of course messing up with their hair again would make them really mad not that I cared anyway, they got me sick and poured rotten milk on me. But the second option would scare them shitless, that's pretty much what I was going for.
I was feeling much better, fully cured and also  phone- less.
Yeah I was still mad at Norman about that.
So I woke up early the next morning, dressed in black shorts and a white loose top with a see-through back. I left my hair loose and wore my wedged converse.
I walked to my laptop and researched ways to make fake edible (because what was anything if it wasn't edible blood). I wrote the recipe and the ingredients down, planning on buying them all after the school day.
I sighed and grabbed my backpack. I was late as usual,Magenta drove the boys to school and my parents dropped Lisa off, so I was left walking. Since I had not had breakfast, I grabbed some toast and added butter and ate it on the way.
"Need a ride?" Someone stopped, he glanced up at me and I felt my heart beat faster, I felt guilt. Unusual feeling but I knew instantly I never wanted to feel it again.
His green eyes rose up to mine, he raised a questioning eyebrow. I gulped, feeling at a sudden loss for words. It had been three weeks and some days since he had begun ignoring me. I don't know why it mattered so much to me. It should've, it never usually did.
"Please" I said quietly, he nodded and leaned over to open the door.
I got in, half a piece of toast hanging off my lips, I placed my backpack at my feet and tried to put on the seat belt. It wouldn't go in, for some odd reason, I started to feel myself blush. Why couldn't I put a seatbelt on? What was wrong with me.
He leaned over, grabbing the strap  from my finger tips. Our hands brushed, his body slightly resting on mine as he tried to place the strap in the latch. He pushed the strap in, the latch finally allowing it and a audible click was heard.
He went back into his seat and glanced at me.
"Sorry about the seatbelt, it used to be my father's car" he apologized. I nodded, realizing it was probably an old car,
I finished off my toast, wiping the crumbs off my chin.
The car ride was silent, the silence was awkward and the only thing heard was the car. He didn't even switch on the radio. I didn't know what to say so I ended up staring out of the window.
He stopped the car, just outside the school. Not bothering to park.
"Um- aren't you going to go in?" I asked him, grabbing my backpack.
"No" he said simply, his tone was incisive.
"Why?" I asked him.
"Because I'm not- please get out of my car now." He said, his tone cold.
This cut through me. Not treating me well.
"Look-" I started, I turned to look at him but his green eyes looked a shade darker, a cold look replacing his usual bright eyes.
I took the chance to notice the bags under his eyes, it appeared as if he hadn't slept in days. His hair was a mess, worse than usual. He wore a white top that was stained with oil and other unidentifiable substances, his black pants dirty. I cleared my throat.
"Look I am so-" my words cut short by him rudely interrupting me.
"I need to go" he said, looking pointedly at the door. "If you don't mind- please leave"
I nodded, receiving the message loud and clear.
"Okay" I said nodding, just as my foot left the car he sped off without a second glance.
I admit, that was a little hurtful but I guess I deserved it. I shrugged and headed inside the school. The halls were still full so I wasn't late.
"Hey" Scarlet smiled up at me,
"Hi Scar" I said looking at her." Can you come over tonight?" I asked her.
"Um- no" she shook her head "I - uh, I'm busy"
Her cheeks turned a immense red colour.
"I have to go" she said, she was about to scurry off but I pulled her backpack.
"What's wrong? You can tell me anything" I said searching her eyes.
"No" she yelled then stopped herself "I'm okay, I need to go"
Before I could say anything she shrugged out of my grip and rushed off.
That was weird.  I didn't see her for the rest of the day.
I walked to my next class. History.
I sighed dreading that class, I was a little early, the class was empty. I was okay with sitting alone until Cathrine came in.
"Hello" she said smirking.
"What the hell do you want?" I asked shooting her a glare.
"Oh, friendly as always" she glowered at me.
"Fake as always" I said to her. She rolled her eyes, flipping her hair over she shoulder.
"So-" she said awkwardly, she glanced at me as if expecting me to say anything.
"What exactly do you want? Like not to be rude or anything but I don't like you and you like me, quite frankly. I don't know why you insist on talking to me" I said to her raising my eyebrows at her.
"I know" she said sticking her nose up in the air as the classroom filled up. Her lips forming a tight line. "I was just being friendly for your sisters sake, I guess you missed the kind DNA"
I rolled my eyes. "Whatever, Cathrine"
"Anyway- have you apologized to Henry?" She asked me. Her brown eyes boring into mine as she waited for me to answer.
I looked down at the desk, feeling bad about my answer.
"What's it to you?" I asked her, avoiding the question.
"Nothing to me specifically" she said, her tone going colder "but he is my friend, but I guess you don't know much about those do you?"
"I do" I said frowning. "I have friends-"
"No you don't, the only friend you have is Scarlet and even she is keeping the biggest secret from you." Cathrine smirked childishly at seeing my expression but I quickly recovered,
"How do you know? We are close. She doesn't keep secrets from me without a reason" I said shooting her a glare.
"I'm a lot closer to Scarlet than you think" Cathrine smiled up at me.
"That's impossible, let me let you in on a little secret" I said.
"No she doesn't. She wouldn't" Cathrine said, putting a hand on the desk to support herself. Those heels were probably killing her.
"You're delusional" I said honestly.
"Besides, I've got tons of people behind me. That's what popularity is all about. Having friends, countless amount of people to have your back. And since Henry left the school, the spot is open" she smirked at me.
"Henry left the school?" I asked.
"Guess I'm most popular now" she said not answering my question and waving a fake nailed hand in the hair.
"Good for you" I said to her sarcastically "I couldn't care less"
"Of course you wouldn't" she said as the teacher came into the classroom.
Substitute teacher, Mrs Stuart. Strictest teacher in the school.
She shot the class a glare.
"Page twenty nine through to thirty nine in your history text book. Read it and write an essay on one of the topics" she said simply.
No one dared to say a word, I slowly opened my textbook. I couldn't concentrate, but I tried.
We were still learning about World War Two.
I sighed and placed both of my hands on my head and my elbows rested on the desk. The text book between my elbows.
I read the words but they left my brain in a hurry, nothing got in, or out.
For some peculiar reason I felt worried about Henry. He left the school?
Really? Forever.
I felt greatly responsible. It was all my fault, I didn't think my words meant that much to make someone leave the school.
I am a horrible person. He was just being friendly,
I grabbed a pencil and started to draw swirls on the side of my text book.
There was thirty minutes of the lesson left.
What was the secret that Scarlet was keeping from me? we never kept anything from each other. It was always like that. I chewed on my bottom lip, nerves crushing into my stomach.
How big was it? Never mind that, what was it?
"George" Mrs Stuart's voice boomed loudly, causing me to slightly jump in my chair.
"Stop whispering to Kelly"
I looked down, still feeling hopeless. There was a pink sticky note that flew to me.
"Feeling guilty? I hope so" it said.
From Cathrine obviously, I crumpled it up and didn't bother answering.
I raised my hand, "Ma'm"
"Yes - Ms snow" she said looking up from her laptop.
"I'm going to the bathroom" I said to her and she nodded.
I got up and hurried out of the class.
I sure wasn't going to come back. I walked to the bathroom, putting water on my face.
I did my business and headed outside. I was planning on wondering the school endlessly.
"I didn't tag you as a bad girl you know" Jay said to me raising an eyebrow.
"What do you want?" I asked, sighing.
"Nothing, I'm bored so I snuck out of English and how about you?" He asked.
"History" I said and he nodded.
"Let's go to the mall" he said.
I raised a curious eyebrow at him and he blushed.
"I meant to get ice cream - I owe you" he said.
"You do" I said nodding.
We walked out of the school, i wasn't worried about my stationary that I left because I knew Jake had history next and he would recognize my bag,
The mall was quite full for a school day, Jay and I headed for the ice cream parlor.
"Hey man!" Jay said greeting the worker who gave him the same cheerful smile and fist bump.
"How's work?" He asked. "Leb's a witch as usual?"
"Yeah- she's on lunch" the guy said nodding the door.
"So what would you like?" Jay asked me.
"Plain cone with sprinkles and a flake" I said.
"Okay can I have that and a chocolate triple decked with red velvet sauce" he asked and the cashier nodded.
The guy grinned and went to make the ice creams.
"Wait you don't get charged?" I asked my mouth agape.
"Employees are allowed five free ice creams per month" Jay smirked.
"That's unfair- I think I should start working here" I said.
"No" he shook his head as my ice cream got handed to me. "Please no"
I chuckled and licked my ice cream.
"You still owe me you know" I said to him.
His expression dropped and he frowned. "Fair enough"

Mix the blue and yellow dye together and stir all your ingredients.
I followed the instructions mixing the goop with a wooden spoon. It smelt good for fake blood.
It looked gross though, the ingredients made the fake blood look extremely thick.
I grabbed my wooden soon and held it up to my face for inspection.
They said this was edible. I was hesitant bit tried it anyway.
It tasted funny, the Hershey's chocolate had some effect on it. It was sweet and surgery but had some sort of aftertaste I didn't like. I shrugged this wasn't for eating purposes anyway.
I placed the lid on the bowel and cleaned up my room. I placed a small towel over it so my brothers wouldn't see it and went to wash everything else up in the sink downstairs. Luckily Jake and Jack were coming home from Rugby late so I had enough time.
I managed to clean everything and headed upstairs.
"Hey" Magenta said to me, she came into my room. Her blue eyes filled with tears.
My heart broke at the sight of my other half crying.
"What's wrong? Who is it?" I asked.
"Manson" she muttered. She sniffed and wiped her nose with her sleeve.
"What did he do?" I asked.
"He broke up with me" she said.
"Oh" I said lamely, I hugged my sister tightly.
When we finally let go of each other, she moved towards my bed and sat down.
"What happened?" I asked gently.
"He told me he wanted it over and he- he found someone else" she said slowly. Her blue eyes were red and pale. Her blonde hair up in a messy bun. Her clothes wrinkled and baggy, something Magenta wouldn't be caught dead in.
"Today?" I asked. Manson and Magenta had been dating for six months now. The longest time that both of them ever dated.
I paced around the room. Anger flooding into my features. Perhaps I shouldn't use this prank on my brothers.
I would use it on Manson.
I grinned, Magenta wouldn't know now. She was still weak and still cared about the poor idiot.
Her eyes drooped.
"Is it alright if I sleep here? " she said.
"Yes sure. Should I get you anything?" I asked.
"No thanks" she said shaking her head. She leaned back, sniffing once more. Her eyes closing and I noticed her small she looked then. I wrapped my throw over her and exited my room giving her time to sleep without disturbances.
"I'm home bitches!" Jake yelled loudly, he got into the house with his rugby kit. His arms wide.
"LANGUAGE!" My father roared from the other room and I chuckled.
Jack came into the house behind Jake. He rolled his eyes at his brother stupidity.
"So how was rugby?" I asked them.
"Great. Somethings up with Manson, the guy was super clumsy today" Jake commented.
"Yeah- we have a game against the Lions on Friday and if he carries on like this we are bound to lose" Jack said shaking his head in disappointment "we worked so hard for this and he's just gonna mess it up like that"
"He broke up with Magenta" I said shrugging. "I didnt expect him to be a mess though. I mean he broke up with her."
My brothers teeth immediately clenched.
"He did what?" Jake said, his eyes narrowed.
"Did he say why?" Jack said.
"He found someone else" I shrugged "guys please don't disturb her, she's heartbroken. Like I need you not to be yourself just for a week"
"That son of a-" Jake started.
"Don't blame his mother" Jack said sighing as he held his fingers at the bridge of his nose.
"He is going to get it" Jake said dropping his kit and turning. His brother followed him and a wave of panic spread through me.
My brothers could be violent if they wanted to.
"Geez woah woah" I said trying to stop them but they were rugby guys. They were much stronger than my tiny frame.
"Move" Jake said.
"Stop please" I said regretting why I had told them. Me and my huge mouth.
"What?" Jack said glancing at me
"Please just wait- you can't hurt him. If you do, you'll hurt Magenta" I said.
"But-" Jake said, his look softening and I knew he was defeated.
"But, I have a plan" I grinned "see no one hurts my family and expects to live"
Jack licked his lips and crossed his arms.
"I'm listening"
My grin widened, I had their attention.
I told them my plan and how we were going to get sweet revenge on poor little Manson
"You're devious" Jack commented, he looked at me thoughtfully.
"I like it" Jake smirked "reminds me why we are related"
***
Plan was in action. The boys were really helpful, it got me thinking about why I firmly ask them to help me in more of my plans but I remembered it was because they were the cause.
Manson always sat on the bench outside during lunch , he got a clear view of the cheerleaders that weren't sitting inside the cafeteria.
The genius of all of this was that our school benches were dark brown and today, on this particular day he was wearing white shorts with a black shirt and his black and white nikes.
Which perfected my plan even more.
Just before lunch, Jake and Jack had gym. I had maths. It was alright however because I managed to get out of the last five minutes by telling the teacher that my mother was calling when in actual fact it was Jake.
I grabbed the bowel of fake blood and grinned excitedly as the three of us headed outside.
Jake- was due for lookout. If anyone caught us we would run for the bushes right behind the bench. Jake himself was behind a bush and had a signal. His signal was a whistle.
Next was my job. I had to pour the liquid on the dark brown bench. I suppose you could see it was wet but you could only see it well if you looked closely at it then you would see it. Next was Jacks job.
He had to make sure he removed the evidence. There was the dumpster behind the school which was cleared every Thursday which was tomorrow.
I handed Jack the bowel and he started running there as the bell rang signaling break.
Jake and I didn't wait in the bushes or else our cover would have been blown and plus food was a necessity.
I got my food from the cafeteria, the line was long because it was spaghetti today.
Scarlet looked at me and tried to dodge me.
"Scarlet" I said glaring at her. "You better not be running about from me."
"Why would I-" she started and I shook my head.
"We have to sit outside today" I said a smile creeping on my face.
"Why? What did you do?" She asked me.
"Oh nothing" I said smiling to myself.
Jay came out of the line and followed us. "Where are we sitting?"
"Opposite the cheerleaders bench" I said smiling to myself.
"Yeah!" Jake fist pumped. "Hot cheerleaders"
"Ew not for that reason you perv" I said "for some other reason"
Scarlet frowned but didn't say anything as we sat on the grass opposite the bench.
"So how's life guys?" I asked casually as I slurped up my pasta.
"Attractive" Jay said smirking at me.
I rolled my eyes and Scarlet glanced at me.
"Why are we sitting here?" She asked me.
"Because you need some vitamin D, some sun. Soak it in kids, we only sit here once in a blue sunlight"  I said.
"You don't make sense" Jay said frowning "it's once in a blue mo-"
"That's right sucker! I don't make cents , I make dollars" I said sticking my tongue out at him.
Jay chuckled and Scarlet smiled.
I checked the time, the bell was due to ring in a few minutes and I tossed my empty spaghetti container in the nearest bin.
"Sup ladies" Jake said coming closer to us. He flopped down.
"Jay" Jack greeted ignoring Scarlet and I.
I noticed hat scarlet started blushing deeply when Jack came.
I glanced at her, as the bell rang once again signally int the end of break. I glanced at the crowd opposite us they were still chatting and sitting down. I had to get over there but how.
"Allison!" I yelled loudly causing some of the cheerleaders to look at me. "Hey girl hey"
"Addison" she corrected as I walked near her hooking her arm in mine.
"Yeah right" I said as everyone started to get up. "So what's the haps girl? I mean we haven't spoken for like forever"
"Um" she bit her lip unsure of how to respond heck, I would be unsure on how to respond. I never spoke to this girl unless I had to.
"Well my parents are getting a divorce"
"Oh" I said chewing on my lip and almost feeling bad. "Shame, urg divorces are the worst."
"yeah" she said and started rambling on about what led her parents to that decision.
Manson stood up, a big maroon blob on his pants. I bit my lip to stop myself from grinning.
"Dude- uh I don't know how to tell you this but-" Laiken one of his friends started.
"I think I sat on something wet" Manson started, he felt his bum and his eyes widened as the red residue came off.
"What the-" he started looking at us worriedly.
"I think I sat in something" he said.
"Maybe you just sat in berry juice or somethin" Laiken said much to my disappointment.
"Yeah" he nodded, he grabbed his jacket and tied it around his waist.
"I have an extra pair of jeans if you want" Laiken said as we walked back to class. My teeth clenched this stupid idiot was ruining everything.
"Please man" Manson nodded and I sighed.
"So then their fighting went to the extreme when my father finally yelled , I'm divorcing you I've had enough" Addison oblivious to he situation happening around her.
I glanced back at her, she had  tears visible in her eyes and I looked at her.
"That's tough" I said even though I hadn't heard the whole story. "Sorry"
"It's alright" she said trying to be strong.
"Atta girl- be strong." I said I trailed off of the speech I was about to give her.
"What am I thinking?" I muttered more to myself, I let go of her.
"I need to go home" I said. "Fourth period is in an hour"
"What?" Addison asked me.
I ignored her and turned around finding my brothers talking to Jay and Scarlet.
"I need you to cover for me now" I said.
"Why?" Jake asked me. He was in my same geography class.
"Because- I need to go home" I said lamely. I could tell them. They would see by themselves in a few hours and this one was especially for Magenta. Manson was in her fourth period and the leaf I could get out of this was a smile from her.
"Section twenty two part fifty nine states that you have to cover for another twin if in state of an emergency in the case of being at school." I said.
"Section fifty twenty six actually" Jack corrected me and I nodded looking up at Jake hopefully.
"Please Jake" I said and he nodded. I grinned and rushed out. Let's just say I've never run out of school that fast before.
