Chapter 20:

I went up via the teenage pad. I grabbed some Oreos and a coke on the way.

I quickly rushed up the stairs and carefully opened my brothers cupboard door.

He lay sprawled on the bed, scrolling through some Instagram photos.

"Hey" I said.

He looked up and glanced at the watch on his wrist.

"Welcome to the dark side sister, we have cookies" he said laughing.

I chuckled softly and held up the Oreos. "I have the cookies technically speaking " I said raising my eyebrow.

"Touché" he said smiling.

"I'm heading to bed" I said to him. "Goodnight"

"Night Vi" he said. "Mom and dad are asleep by the way"

I tiptoed to my room and closed the door behind me.

I quickly changed out of my clothes and into a tank top and shorts and fluffy socks.

I quickly got into bed and nudged my sister.

She smiled and moved over.

"I waited up for you" she muttered.

"Thanks" I said, I put my hair in a bun and turned to look at her. My room was dark other than the moonlight flooding in.

Magenta sighed and glanced at me."I hate fighting" she muttered softly.

"Same" I admitted.

"Look-" She started. "Im sorry"

"Mags- Im sorry too" I said.

She smiled. "Truce?"

"Truce" I confirmed.

She nodded and let out a yawn.

"Goodnight" I said as I turned over but my sister was already fast asleep. I tossed and turned for most of the night. My stomach in knots as I thought of seeing Henry tomorrow.

When I woke up the next morning my sister was gone. The time was half past eight and the smell of pancakes wafted in the air.

Jack strolled into my room, I closed my eyes pretending to sleep but he wasn't convinced.

"Violet?" He asked. "I know you're up"

"mmm?" I muttered as I opened my eyes, I turned glancing at my brother.

He looked tired.

"Are you busy?" He asked.

"Kind of?" I said frowning.

"Well... I wanted to talk to you" He asked me.

"Ugh, Jack can't you wait till later?" I asked. "I feel gross and Im hungry"

He sighed. Thats when I really saw the unhappiness in his eyes.

"Okay" I said turning over, I grabbed a mint from my nightstand and shifted so there was space.
