Nathan's POV
This couldn't be happening. No no no no no please no. I couldn't deal with it.
I sobbed in my room, not letting anyone come in. I ripped apart newspapers in frustration. I'd just gotten him back, dammit! And now he's leaving me again.
I pulled myself together. Five months. I had to give Jay the time of his life.
I went into the bathroom and cleaned myself up. I tried to look as confident as possible. Then I trotted to meet the other boys.
"Look at this, Nathan's back," Siva declared.
"Do we have anything going on today?" I asked.
"I don't think so, I'm pretty sure our next concert is tomorrow. Why?" Max asked.
I turned to look at Jay. I grabbed his hand and smiled at him. "Movie date tonight. We're going to find the local cinema and watch whatever movie you want."
He smiled. "As much fun as that seems, you don't have to treat me like royalty because I'm dying, Nath."
He sounded so calm. 'I'm dying.' There wasn't even a choke.
"Yes, I do," I insisted. "Come on, Jay. Please?"
He sighed. "Fine."
I grinned and kissed him gently.
"Not here, boys," Tom muttered under his breath. We laughed.
The night couldn't come fast enough. When it was finally time, I stuffed money in my pocket and dragged Jay out of the hotel.
"Can I have a piggy back ride?" I asked in the tone of a little kid. "If it's not too straining on your heart."
Jay laughed. "I think I can lift a little fellow like you." He bent down. I climbed up his back and put my legs around his neck. He grabbed my knees and held me in place as we walked.
"You said a piggy back ride!" Jay complained.
I kissed the side of his head. "Close enough."
"Do you know where it is?" he asked.
I checked my phone. I pulled up directions and smiled. "Now I do. Come on, Jay! Faster faster faster!"
He laughed. What a beautiful laugh. "You're such a child, Baby Nath."
But nonetheless, he quickened his pace.
We sat in the back of the cinema. I wasn't watching the movie; I was watching Jay. I memorised all the lines of his face. I didn't want to forget a single part of him. When he dies...IF he dies, I need to remember him.
He suddenly turned to look at me. I gazed into his blue eyes. So blue. So beautiful. So deep.
He put a hand on the side of my face. I leaned in closer until our lips met, soft and sweet and popcorny.
As soon as we pulled away, he took a paper out of his pocket and crossed something off.
"What was that paper?" I asked when the movie ended.
Jay looked at his feet sheepishly, pulling out the paper. "Well, I made a bucket list of things I want to do in the next five months."
I stared blankly at him for a moment. Then I smirked. "You've never kissed in a cinema before?"
He blushed.
I put an arm around his waist. "Aw, Jay!"
"Shut up!"
I glanced at the list. There were a lot of things on there. I made it my goal to have us do all of them.
