A/N:This chapter is dedicated to original_allie. Here's to the chapter I know you've been waiting for! Happy reading everyone~

I held onto Callen's navy colored shirt as we rode through the Old Forrest. Beautiful ancient pine trees surrounded as as we rode. Large and worn tree trunks sprinted from the forest floor while deep green leaves pointed outward away from the tree itself. I have not been able to clearly see the sky for quite sometime now, since the trees cloud our vision.

A slight ringing could be heard in my head began minutes are we crossed the barrier into the Old Forrest. "Are you starting to feel well now Carita?" asked Asher. He had given me an elixir to ease my headache after the ringing had begun. He assumed that the cause of my ringing headache seemed from the powerful magic we felt after crossing the barrier.

"Yes I am beginning to feel well. However, I hear a slight ringing in my head" I replied. The amount of trees that surrounded us began to increase. While small wildflowers hid near the tree trunks. The flowers were lovely shades of yellow, purple, and blue. "That is normally a side effect of the elixir. The ringing should end in several more minutes" said Asher.

I do hope that is the case because I am not certain how much more I can tolerate the ringing. Despite the ringing I can feel that a powerful magical presence is nearby. The presence is slowly making its way towards our current location. I have felt the magical presence for quite sometime, but I have not spoken of it.

It could be my imagination since I have felt my abilities slightly weaken after passing through the portal. However, I will keep a watchful eye over the presence as we continue our journey. It is better to be careful instead of dismissing the suspicious magical presence as nothing. I am typically a cautious person, but even more now since I have learned that people wish to use me for my magic abilities.

I suppose this is what occurs when you are both to parents, especially to a mother, whom posses powerful magic abilities. I have heard from Mother that she was targeted on several occasions during the war. However, she mentioned that the war was somewhat of a blessing since it provided her the opportunity to meet Father. Finding her mate allowed her to find her other half and gain protection during dangerous times.

I cannot help but wonder about who exactly wants to use my magic abilities, especially those who live on in my homeland. I can only think of the Royal family of my homeland, since they often search for powerful individuals to join their army or court. Due to gossip I have heard that several of these individuals began their service against their will. However, they remained due to status, wealth or the Isle became their home.

Azalea let out a soft gasp, so I turned my head in her direction to see if she is well. "What is the matter Azalea?" I asked. She lovely turned her neck to face me as she spoke. Her arms were wrapped around Asher's waist. "I am well Carita. I was simply stunned at the view in front of us" answered Azalea. Now that I think about it I have not been paying attention to my surroundings. I have been lost in my thoughts for quite sometime now.

I turned my neck so that I could face forward as we rode on. I stretched my neck outward so that I could see past Callen's broad back. I gasped softly at the beauty the forest has to offer. Our path has narrowed into a small dirt path. The tall ancient trees continue to surround us. Further ahead to the left I can see a golden glow from the sun.

The lush green grass that covers the forest floor  is unruly and untamed. Small white and purple wildflowers spring up from the grass. Smaller flowers hid between larger blades of grass. The beauty of nature is simply stunning and breathtaking. I would have never seen the Old Forrest, or the simple yet lovely terrain along the path, if I did not leave home.
