I sat in front of my large wooden desk that is full of paperwork and documents. An ancient green leather text sits at the edge of the desk. At times I do not like my occupation because I have to stay indoors looking through documents.

Perhaps I shall take a stroll near the shore before retiring for the evening. A sudden knock echoed through my study door. I continued to look over tax documents as the echo dimmed. "Enter," I said while scanning through the documents I was looking over.

I heard the door open, and then softly creek as it closed. "Good afternoon brother. I have brought you a cup of tea," said a soft feminine voice, which I recognized as my sister. I looked up to see my younger sister, Elycia, carrying a tray of tea and sweet rolls.

The sweet rolls are baked to a light golden brown crisp and are filled with honey and berries. "Thank you Elycia. Would you care to join me?" I asked as she set the tray down.

A smile appears on her soft face and causes her beautiful eyes to shine. Her eyes appear to glow jade that have a tint of brown near the iris. Her black hair cascades down her back while fringe bangs frame her forehead.

Her small 5'2'' slim body hides in a red gown that flows and is tied at the neck. The neck portion of her gown is soft cream. She sat down in the chair in front of mine. "I would love to! However, would I be disturbing you?" she asked.

I shook my head and then set the documents down on my desk. "Not at all. I was debating whether or not I should retrieve something to eat" I said. It is the late afternoon and I decided not to have lunch. I had an appointment to settle a dispute between two noble families.

Both families refused to accept that their youngest children, both are of age, are mates. I sat down with the families and had them voice their thoughts. Afterwards, I had their children voice their feelings and opinions. I had managed to help calm down the families and help them realize their children being mates is a reason to celebrate, not argue with one another.

Thus their dispute prevented me from having anything to eat until now. Elycia placed a plate of sweet rolls in front of me, and then took two for her. "Your sweet rolls look delicious" I said. I took a bite into a sweet roll. A smile appeared on her face at my compliment.

"Thank you brother. I was thinking of baking a coconut cake tonight" said Elycia. I chuckled at her enthusiasm for baking. It is one of my sister's passions aside from designing and making clothing. She mainly designs and creates day gowns and formal gowns.

"That does sound good" I said. I took a sip of tea after finishing my second sweet roll. "How as your day been brother?" she asked. I glanced down and noticed that I have

Finished all of my sweet rolls. Elycia reached toward the teakettle that sat on the tray.

She took a hold of the handle then slowly refilled my teacup. "It has been rather busy. I had to handle a situation between two noble families. I have been looking through documents since I have returned" I replied.

She slightly arched an eyebrow "They still insisted on fighting against the mating?" I chuckled at how sharp my sister is for her age. She is sixteen, but is sharper and more observant then other young women her age. "As always you are sharp. They have calmed down and have began to accept the mating"

She slowly nods causing her black hair to sway. "I am glad. Finding your mate is cause for celebration. They should have overlooked their prior disputes" I nod in agreement to what Elycia has stated.

Her shoulders suddenly tense and she closes her mouth without speaking. My blue eyes look into her jade eyes. I raise an eyebrow to question her decision not to speak. "I would live to discuss a situation, but I am unsure if I should"
