That stopped me dead in my tracks. "You like me?"

He smiled. "Not like I'm trying to steal you away from the guys. I meant as a friend."

I took a deep breath. "You gave me a heart attack."

"Am I really that bad?"

"No!" I said quickly. "It's just, when Jacob started liking me everything went down hill. He's sorta the reason I'm coming to the hospital today."

"I thought you said someone broke into your house?"

I sighed. That's what I told him. "When I lived in Pennsylvania, there was this boy in my high school named Jacob. We were never really close until this past school year. He became obsessive and ended up following me here. He's the one who broke into the house and beat me up."

He was shocked. "Why would he do that?"

"He was in love with me. He wanted me to love him. I didn't like him like that." I couldn't make eye contact. "So he hurt me."

Blake's jaw clenched. "I would have killed him."

"The boys wanted to. Rocky hurt him enough to put him in a coma."

"He would have been in a body bag if it was up to me."

"Don't say that. Everything's better now. He's out of the picture." I took his hand.

"I didn't want to say anything, but no wonder you made your way to the top of the cliff."

I was watching my feet. "I should check in."

I left Blake's side as I went to the receptionist.

"I have an appointment." I didn't even bother to wait for him to see me.

"Name?" He didn't look up from the computer.

"Ashley Stars."

He typed on the keyboard. "Looks like they're ready for you. Just go down this hallway to room 104."

"Thanks." I turned and went back to Blake. "My rooms down this hall. You can wait here if you want."

"I thought you wanted me to go back with you?" He stopped me.

I blushed. "Do you want to?"

"If that's where you need me to be."

"Come on then." I took his hand. "Let's go."

(Rocky's point of view)

I jumped out of bed and looked at my clock. It was already past ten. I was late. Ashley said she didn't want me to go with her, but I was going to try.

I quickly ran out into the hallway and down to her room. She was gone and so were the twins.

"Rydel!" I yelled.

"What do you need?" She came down the hallway holding Rory.

"Did Ashley leave for her doctors appointment already?" I walked past her to look in the bathroom.

"She left over an hour ago. Why?"

"Why wouldn't she wake me? I told her I didn't want her going alone." I went back into my room and grabbed a pair of jeans.

"She told me about the nurse." Rydel followed me. "I don't think she wants you to go."

"It doesn't matter if she wants me to. I'm suppose to be there for her." I threw my shirt on.
