"You can't just leave. It's one in the morning. Someone will notice. This is a bad idea." Ryland tried to convince me to not go see Rocky.
"I have to go. You have to help me get out of here." I started looking around.
"How long will you be gone?"
I turned and went back into the hotel room. "I don't know." I whispered. "Until I'm done talking to him."
"What happens when Blake gets up and sees that you're gone?" He followed right behind me.
"I guess we'll figure that out." I grabbed my jacket and slipped on a pair of jeans over my pajama shorts.
"I can't let you go alone. What if something happens?"
"What's gonna happen? I'm just going to see Rocky."
"I don't know. Those seem to be your famous last words before you're shot, or stabbed, or beaten to a pulp. Just let me come with you." He begged.
"What happens when Brittany wakes up and finds both of us gone? Alone together in the middle of the night. She won't be happy."
"I'll lock the door between our rooms and leave a note. She'll understand."
"I don't want her telling Blake."
"I'll put that on the note too. Just let me come."
I grabbed my phone. "Fine, but go quick."
He smiled. "I'll meet you in the hallway."
I glanced over to see Blake sound asleep. Quietly, I wrapped the twins blankets back around them and snuck out into the hallway. Hopefully they would stay asleep until I got back.
"Ready to go?" Ryland closed his door quietly.
"Yeah. It's a good thing you remembered pants." I laughed and walked to the elevator.
Ryland glanced down at his sweatpants and half zipped hoodie. He wasn't wearing a shirt underneath it.
"Good thing for me or for you?" He smirked.
I rolled my eyes. "Are we leaving or not?"
"Are you going to answer my question?"
"I think I've answered enough of your questions today."
"Good point."
The lobby didn't have a single person in it. No one was at the desk and there were no other guests anywhere.
We left the building and went down to the parking garage.
"Who's car?" Ryland asked.
"Considering the only car we have keys to is yours, I'd say yours." I replied sarcastically.
"I was just asking. What about your car?" He led the way to his.
"Mines still parked at Blake's apartment. We took his truck here."
We both climbed into his car.
"Does Rocky know you're coming?" Ryland started the car.
"No. He'll figure it out when I climb into his bed." I pulled my buckle across my chest.
"Maybe I should have let you come alone. Who knows how long you'll take if you're climbing into his bed."
"Hahaha." I fake laughed. "Aren't you hilarious? That's not my goal tonight."
"Would you rather it be me?" He batted his eyes.
"This is why I didn't want to tell you." I huffed.
