Wolf Blood: New Beginnings

Chapter Twelve

The next morning, Maddy had awoken to a loud bang downstairs. She immediately ran downstairs and yelled for Jacob just to see him picking up a pot from the ground. Maddy calmed down and held her heart, she got so scared and worried about Jacob.

"I'm sorry. I didn't mean to wake you,"

"It's fine. I was getting up anyways. What are you even doing?"

"I was going to cook breakfast. I quickly ran to the store and got some groceries. I hope you don't mind,"

"Its alright, thank you." Maddy helped Jacob to cook breakfast. After cooking they had eggs, bacon, and pancakes. For wolfbloods they can eat a lot. Once they began to clean a knock came at Maddy's door.

She walked over wondering who it is and looked through the peephole. It was Rhydian. She opened the door and saw a nervous looking boy.

"Rhydian, what are you doing here?"

"I heard you moved back in so I decided I'd drop by and see how you were doing,"

"Oh. Well come in and join Jacob and I."

Rhydian walked in and once he saw Jacob he gave him a glare. Jacob smiled in response.

"Maddy I'm going to head out. I need to work so I'll see you later tonight." Maddy was disappointed to hear that. She wanted to spend the day with Jacob and Rhydian, with just Rhydian it feels awkward for her.

"Okay bye Jacob."

Rhydian and Jacob exchanged looks and he left. Maddy didn't know what to do so she continued cleaning the kitchen.

"Need help?" Rhydian walked over setting down a plastic bag filled with unknown stuff.

"Sure. You can give me all the plates so I can wash it now,"

The two finished cleaning saying nothing. It was awkward for Maddy and Rhydian didn't know a good conversation starter.

"So...where are your parents? I haven't seen them in awhile," once he said that he noticed Maddy stiffen a bit. "We don't need to talk anymore if you don't want to,"

"It's fine. It's just I haven't talked about my parents in awhile." Rhydian changed his seating position so Maddy knows that he's listening.

"Well it was awhile but once Jacob and I found my parents they weren't...my parents. Something came over them and they acted like wild wolf bloods but worse. I got so scared. So then I ended up injuring all of the other wild wolf bloods and ran away leaving Jacob behind. It was actually my first transformation when it happened."

"I'm sorry Maddy. I can't imagine how you felt when that happened,"

"Yeah well I'm over it. Right now I want to know who my real parents are,"

"If you don't mind I would like to help."

"Sure,"

Maybe being friends won't be so bad.

Rhydian and Maddy started looking for anything interesting around the house. Maddy went into her parents room and Rhydian went down to the den.

Then Maddy remembered the journal she found. She was going to talk about it first with Jacob but he isn't there so it was gonna be Rhydian.

"Hey Rhydian! I found something interesting last night in my parents room," she yelled from her parents room. Rhydian came running in.

"What is it?"

"I read only the first page but I think it's a journal about me growing up. There could be something that leads to my birthparents,"

"Maybe. Let's read it,"
