Wolf Blood: New Beginnings

Chapter Fifteen

The three followed Sirena who was leading them back to where they came from.

"Sirena, who are you exactly?" Maddy asked.

"I am nothing but a mere spirit," The three had shocked expressions. Wondering what a spirit is doing here on earth and how it's even possible.

"A spirit? But I thought spirits either go up or down and don't come back to earth until they are reborn again,"

"That is right. But I believe you know of some sort of magic that can rest us spirits Maddy." Maddy didn't know anything about magic. Yeah she believes but it doesn't mean she knows it.

"Well why are you helping us though?"

"I have been summoned to do so because Maddy, you are in danger."

Danger?  "How am I in danger?"

"I have said too much. We are here,"

The only thing they saw was a dead end. Jacob was about to speak when Sirena pushed the three into the darkness. They went through as if there was no wall there.

My stomach feels weird... Jacob woke up and threw up somewhere. "I feel better now,"

"I don't!" Jacob got scared and immediately backed away but tripped on something. "Ow!" Where the three were was too dark. "I'm sorry,"

Suddenly there was light, but it was from Maddy. "Maddy? How are you doing that?" Jacob asked. "I'll explain everything later. But for now we need to find a way out,"

Maddy found Rhydian who was covered in disgusting yellow clumps and the smell was horrid. "Rhydian what happened to you?"

"Ask Jacob," Maddy didn't have to ask. She began to walk ahead in the dark followed by the two boys with Rhydian in the back because nobody could stand the smell.

"Maddy do you know where we are?" Jacob was walking side-by-side, taking the advantage. "I honestly don't know. Sirena pushed us down here in the dark not even telling us what we're supposed to be looking for."

Then lights came on, blinding Maddy, Jacob, and Rhydian. Maddy tried to adjust to the brightness but things were still a bit blurry. "Sorry I did that without warning. I'll change the lighting which should help gain your eyesight back."

Now they all can see. Maddy looked at the man and she thought he looked familiar but didn't know where from. "Now let me introduce myself. My name is Philip and I have summoned Sirena who brought you three here."

"Philip? Who are you exactly?" Maddy asked.

"I am just like you Maddy. A wolfblood...a special wolfblood." Special wolfblood? Like me?

"So let me get this straight. You have been watching over Maddy without her knowledge and when she was in need of help you didn't do anything? And you know her family who were some criminal wolfbloods?" Rhydian summarized what Philip had just told them.

Maddy is born of a criminal family. Her home was everywhere and when she was little, a mission had gone awry leading all of them to separate. "How can I trust you?" Maddy said.

"That is all up to you. It's getting late and I think you three would like to go back home. I'll lead you to the way out,"

Maddy didn't know how to process all this. Finding out that her parents are criminals and they were separated because something went wrong. Then their 'friend' shows up out of nowhere and helps her out. It's just all too weird for her.

"This is your way out. The ladder will appear when Maddy says 'Ladder, appear before me'. I will see you all next time," Maddy did as she was told and it actually did appear. The three climbed up and saw that it was night already.

"We'll visit again some other time. For now, we need to take a break. All this is too much for me." Maddy said. They all went into the house and went to their rooms.
