Zania P.O.V.
"I need you home today after school Z, so don't go anywhere else."

Looking up from my phone I frowned. "That won't work, I'm off of work today and I was going to make plans with Ian."

"Zania I wasn't asking you. You better be home after school, dressed and ready to go." My mom said not once looking at me but busy packing up her briefcase for work.

I stood in the middle of the kitchen staring at my mom like she grew two heads. "Why do I have to go? It's your meeting not mine.

My mom walked around the kitchen still stuffing papers into her briefcase until she finally looked up at me. "Your going because I said you have to. Now please don't argue with me this morning. I have to go but I'll see you later. I love you." She says grabbing my face and kissing my cheek before speed walking out the house.

"I love you too." I mumble as I still stood there with a frown on my face.

My dad finished off his coffee before placing his dishes in the sink before getting up from the table. "Put a smile on your face baby doll, your to pretty to be frowning." He says kissing my forehead before grabbing his medical bag and stethoscope off the counter.

I turn around showing off my best sad face. "Daddy do I really have to go?"

He laughed at my expression as he grabbed his things getting ready to leave as well. "That face won't work on me this time. Just do as your mothers says, please I really don't want to hear her mouth."

"That's wack daddy and you know it."

"I don't want to go just as much as you don't want to but it's not up to me."

"I thought you were the man of the house." I provoke as I rolled my eyes.

"I am the man of the house and I love your mom. So if she asks me to make time to attend a dinner meeting with her, then as the man of the house I should take it upon me to cater to her wishes. And in the future whenever I need her, I know she will come because I did the same. It's all about supporting one another. You'll learn that once you mature a little more." He jokes mushing my head making me laugh.

"Alright daddy dang, I didn't ask you to give me marriage counseling. I'm not even married yet."

"You don't need to be married to know that. Now get out my face nautanki - (Drama Queen)."

I laughed as we both grabbed our things and walked out the house together. Unlocking my car I placed my purse and book bag on the front sit before looking over at my dad putting his stuff in his car.

"Dad?"

"Yeah?" He replies.

"Main tumse pyaar kartee hoon (I love you)." I say giving him a smile.

He shakes his head laughing. "You need to work on your Hindi language. But I love you too." He says before getting in his car and pulling off.

My dads first language isn't English but Hindi. Since he moved to the states and became a doctor he learned English quickly so he could work with all patients not just foreign patients. His accent sometimes can still be a bit strong but I'm used to it now. I was taught Hindi in grade school and from my dads side of the family when we visit them every summer in India. Even though I don't fluently speak it that well I can still understand it and can speak a little bit of it.

Pulling out of the driveway I couldn't even make it to the stop sign before I received a FaceTime call.

"Yes Mr. Davis?" I say as I held the phone while driving.
