Zania P.O.V.
"Babe you sure you want to be here?"
"Yeah why wouldn't I?"
"I'm just saying we've been at the hospital all night, I know you're tired."
"I'm good, let's go."
I exhaled feeling defeated as me and Ian exited my vezhicle. I decided to drive us to school today since Ian barely got any sleep last night. We stayed at the hospital until the sun came up and he still insisted we should go to school. I on the other hand was exhausted but I knew I needed to be there for him. His sadness and vulnerability from last night disappeared and is now replaced with anger, quietness, and crankiness.
"How he doing?" Zack comes from behind me and asks.
I shrug not really knowing the answer to that as we both stared at Ian grabbing his things from out his locker. "He hasn't really been talking to me much."
"Yeah I get it, he did the same thing when his granddad got sick last year."
People walked passed him speaking and congratulating him on the win from yesterday but he never once responded to anyone. Which isn't like him at all. Looking back over I noticed that Shay was standing beside him now and they seemed to be talking intensely. I won't lie it hurt my feelings that he could talk to her so freely but not to me but I wasn't going to trip.
"I'm going to class." I called out while walking pass everyone hoping to catch Ian's attention.
"Z, wait."
Smiling to myself before turning around to see what Ian wanted, I knew he wouldn't let me go to class feeling some type of way. "Yeah?"
"Yeah don't wait for me after school, imma hang around for a bit."
My face fell and I hoped nobody noticed the hurt expression that I'm sure was written on my face. Quickly fixing myself I swiftly nodded before turning back around and practically sprinting to class. As I made it to the hallway where my classroom was I still had time so I made my way to the vending machine for something to drink.
"He gone do you just like he did me girl."
I rolled my eyes, grabbed my can soda and turned around facing Lani. Her reason for talking to me was unknown because nothing changed between us, I still didn't like her.
"And you're talking to me because?"
She cracked a smile before throwing her long weave off her shoulder. "Fine, if you don't want my help then cool but don't say nobody warned you."
"Look." I stepped closer so we were only a few inches apart. "Don't worry about me or Ian, we good."
"I hope you believe that." She bumped my shoulder while walking pass me.
Classes seemed to go by quickly today and I was grateful. My mind kept thinking of these ridiculous thoughts and I just couldn't shake them. So when lunch rolled around I was happy the whole crew had it together because I needed to talk to Ian.
"Hey Zania, where you going?"
I looked back to see Skyliaa running to catch up to me. Since meeting her she's really been a cool person to hang with, she's never in drama and stick to herself which I like a lot.
