Chapter 14

Kitana's Pov

I woke up groaning as the alarm buzzed and I blindly slapped the night stand till I hit the clock and stopped it buzzing. I pushed Kyle out of bed with my foot and he hit the ground with a loud thud and I got out of bed shuffling to the shower to wake me up. I walked in and found my gown, mask and belt on the hangers and my pins, gloves and stockings on the bench where are my boots? I rubbed my eyes and got into the shower the hot water hitting my face I started to scrub my face and neck when a pair of arms wrapped around me making me jump causing me to slip and hit my head on the wall in front of me. "Ow Kyle that hurt." I whined rubbing my head.

"And pushing me out of bed isn't painful." He whispered in my ear blocking off my hot water and I started shivering. 

"You don't wake up easily and we have to get ready. My hair is going to take long as it is and get out of my shower it's freezing."  I said pushing back against the wall trying to get Kyle out.

"No can do like you said your hair is going to long enough as it is and you need to wash it as well so I will help you wash it." He said turning around so he was against the wall both of us under the water.

"It's not my fault that it's this long." I sighed dropping leaning back into Kyle so the water was running over my face.

"I know love but just think when Kid turns 21 you get your hair cut." He laughed and I glared at him. It's tradition for female reapers to let their hair grow out over 100 years then the hair gets cut and turned into soul threads. We make ropes, clothes, cloth and other things out of it I know it sounds weird but it helps to protect us knowing that a piece of some grim reaper somewhere is protecting you. The threads have helped me find a hypothermic Kyle once or twice since I saw looking for me essentially.  Oh and Kids 21st isn't the 100th year it's a right of passage to young male grim reapers to cut the hair of a female reaper normally their mother's hair but we all know that that's not going to happen. 

"Why does it have to grow soo long though I mean it's already half way down my shins and in 9 years it will be way too long to have down at all." I whined moving my head to the side so I wouldn't drown myself. Yeah I whine a lot when I don't sleep well and Kyle knows it. He gripped my chin and kissed me lightly before reaching behind him and dumping half a bottle of shampoo on my head and getting most of it in my eyes.

"Ah sorry Kit here stay there." He said putting my face under the water my eyes were closed when he dumped the shampoo so I didn't get any in my eyes and he wiped it away he was taller than me though not by much about quarter to half a head taller than me making it harder for me to ruffle his hair and get away quickly but I manage heh heh. "How your stripes haven't moved over the years is beyond me." He said wiping my face with a cloth before kissing my eye lids telling me that it was ok.

"The same reason as why you put up with my insanity. Pure magic." I laughed grabbing the bottle and rubbing the shampoo into my hair this time. Kyle laughed and massaged my scalp making me purr in pleasure as I rinsed out my hair he scrubbed his own before rubbing the conditioner into my hair it's just soo god damn long. After I rinsed out the conditioner I got out of the shower and dried off putting my hair up into a turban like look with the purple towel I don't know how I get it all in I just do. I started getting dressed when Kyle got out and wrapped a towel around his waist. 

"Have you seen my suit?" He asked looking around the bathroom

"That depends are you wet or dry?" I asked smiling.

"I swear I will be dry when I get into it." He said giving me that toothy grin of his.

"On my side of the bed I didn't want any steam from the shower to get to it." I said pulling on my stockings and dress quickly before drying my hair with a hair dryer before Kyle walked back in with boxers on and he took the brush and dryer out of my hands and told me to sit down. I sat down on the bar stool we had in the bathroom so he could do my hair for me. "Another reason to hate long hair you can't dry it or anything by yourself." I sighed and he just chuckled. Once my hair was dried and up in a long long braid that just passes my butt I pin it up with my special pins the gold in them shining in the light above me.  I pulled on my gloves and put my belt on sheaving all ten daggers and putting the guns in the back holsters I put my mask on my belt and put the necklace that Kid gave me on before walking out to see Kyle struggling with his tie. "Here." I said pulling his hands away and doing it for him.

"Please tell me we have time for coffee?" He begged rubbing his eyes. I glanced at the clock. 

"Yeah it's only 5:15. You haven't seen my boots have you?" I asked and he went to the wardrobe throwing them at me. I sat on the bed to put them as Kyle pulled on his black jacket with a navy shirt underneath and a black tie. Have you guessed our theme? Could it be Death?

"Why does Lord Death want us there at 6 we don't actually perform till  9" He asked sitting beside me.

"There are things to go over before me perform and he wants to see our demonstration before the event pretty much he can't wait to see me get pushed or kicked off the east tower for funnzies" I said rubbing my face and standing up slowly walking out the door to the kitchen where there was a note.

Morning, Kitana and Kyle

We have coffee and tea along with breakfast at the Academy for you so please come here straight away once you see this.

Death

He signed off for me and I saw that the kettle was missing when Kyle walked in. "To the Academy they have coffee for you there." I said grabbing his wrist and leading his outside locking the door behind me. He muttered something and walked beside me slowly looking at his watch. 

"It's crazy to be leaving this early and I don't wanna walk Kit you can carry me." He whined and transformed jumping into my grasp. 

"Fine." I muttered seeing a few of the early risers around town I jumped up onto the roofs running fast getting to the academy fast we stopped at the bottom of the stairs and I fixed my mask before dropping Kyle. "The stairs count as your daily exercise so up you go." I said walking away from him. He quickly caught up to me and we reached the top of the stairs quickly where Sid and Niagas were standing there with coffee for Kyle and tea for me. Made the English way of course. (With milk and sugar). Using my reaper magic I could drink through my mask this often leaves people confused because the mask doesn't change in anyway. After our tea I ate an apple I am not going to eat heavy before the demonstration I would be crazy too and Kyle only ate a small pastry.

"Kyle, Lady Death I hope you are ready for today." Death said coming up to us.

"Of course we are now you did want Kyle on the ground right." I asked looking back at him as the remains of breakfast were packed away.

"Right you are. You and I will be standing on opposite towers watching the students come in when you will be pushed off by one of the twins behind me and they will both escape once you start falling then Kyle will save you." He said gesturing to the twins behind him I could really care less about the boys behind death.

"So you wanted us here early and we are here what did you want us to do?" Kyle asked behind me.

"We need to plan out a landing zone for you two so up you go Lady." Death said pointing to the tall east tower and I sighed and walked off climbing to the top of the stairs one of the boys behind me. I reached the window below the roof and jumped out climbing up to the point of the roof and I looked down seeing my speck of a husband. I straightened my back taking in the view when I was kicked in the ribs hard and I started falling off the roof. 

Kyle's Pov

Oh god Kit is falling without warning quick I have to transform now or I have to clean up a reaper pancake. I thought transforming and speeding towards her. She quickly caught me and twisted her body the way we practised. We flipped, twisted and she threw me into the air before she prepared herself for her landing. She hit the ground hard and rolled forward stopping in a crouch catching me with one hand before standing up slowly. 

"Give me a warning next time idiot I thought you were going to die?" I said panting as I transformed back.

"I wasn't even given one." She muttered.

"That was amazing Lady now head back to the top we have students arriving in ten minutes." Death said and I glanced at the clock 8:30 am. Spirit was taping off an area on the ground around us. "Kyle you can stand here." Death said pointing to the ground below him. We said our good byes and went our separate ways. I could hear muffled shouting above as Kit told off the man behind her and she turned to stand like a statue at the top of the tower. Death walked up to me. "Go find him I know that you and Kit will look for him later so fill him in on our plan with Kit. She has to believe that you are his Uncle." He whispered to me and I nodded walking off just like we planned I was to arrive with the other students and get to my spot to wait.
