Chapter 48

Kid's Pov

"Kitana may I ask why you bought Kid with you?" Stein asked as my sister and I walked into the classroom after everyone had left the school or at least the classroom anyway.

"Kitana knew that you would ask her to get rid of all of her weapons and she feels better with someone she trusts around." I shrugged and Kit nodded.

"You don't trust anyone do you?" Stein asked and Kit shrugged.

"I trusted you. Once. Let me reassure you it won't happen again." She stated crossing her arms over her chest looking bored. "What did you want to talk about Stein?"

"You could call me professor and I wanted to check on you. Your uncles seemed shocked by what they saw and they were concerned about you." Stein stated calmly and Kit shrugged. 

"You seemed shocked as well. Even tried to shout at my uncles. They told me that you and some of the other teachers saw some of my past but not my brothers. Let me make it simple for you. Professor." She started saying professor in disgust like it made her sick to even think of it. "I have walked into hell and walked right back out. My brother and I may have dragged the other for times but we fought through it and survived. I continue to carry those who can not carry themselves and they carry me when my load gets too much to bear." 

"The is no need to be hostile Kitana. Yes I was shocked when I saw things that I would not wish upon my worst enemy. I am even more surprised that you and your brother did not die but became so very strong." Stein said calmly and Kit rolled her eyes as he turned to me. "Kid I would like to know what she has told you."

"She has told me of many beatings. About the water and ice biting at her skin as she swam to save her brother or as she sank. Told me about being burried alive. She told Kitana about how she was raped. There is other stuff but I will leave it there." I sighed watching her carefully and she shrugged.

"I told Kitana about that because I screemed when you grabbed me in the middle of the night." She groaned kicking at the floor lightly.

"You were screeming at the top of your lungs. I was down the hall because we were kinda hurt from the whole Phoenix downfall thing and I wanted to wake you up from your nightmare and you bloody screamed even louder at me and broke my nose." I growled and she shrugged. 

"Your nose broke my hand and you should have stayed in bed anyway. I could have killed you." She declared as if that made it right.

"Getting back on topic. Kitana I would like for you to have a few sessions with Nijas so that we can be sure of your mental health." Stein said carefully.

"Pass. Don't need help thanks very much I am fine as I am. Can I go now? I have some training to do and I don't particually feel like wading through a swamp in the dark." Kit mocked making Stein tighten the screw in his head.

"Kit if you don't want to talk to Nijas talk to Rav or Kitana or even Morana. If they are truely concerned about you they will tell you to your face and do something about it." I offered.

"That. I will do that if it really makes you guys happy but not Rav I am not putting him through that again." Kit stated and I looked at Stein.

"That will have to do I guess." Stein sighed allowing us to leave. 

"Hey Kitana we want to ask you something." Ox calledd as we walked outside and Kit's hand flew to her belt remaining still. I thought everyone would have left the school already.

"Yes." She said turning around and I followed suit seeing a few memebers from the class.

"Do you speak Japanese?" Ox asked and Kit shook her head lieing.
