Chapter 20

Kitana's Pov

"Kitana are you even listening to me?" Kid asked over his shoulder and I shook my head.

"No sorry I have a lot on my mind right now and..." I said before stopping and looking around.

"And What??" He asked before looking at me and copying my reaction looking around I found the soul that was bothering me and turned to look at it before it faded and jumped away from me.

"Kid Look Out!" I yelled booting him in the ribs and catching a cuff attached to a chain and it was screwing with my soul perception. 

"Kitana what is that?" He asked as I pushed him against the wall and the girls transformed and he caught them holding them like I do my normal pistols.

"Reaper metal. It burns you to the touch. Get out of here use the sewers I will take care of this." I hissed and he looked at me.

"I can't leave you alone without a weapon." He whispered back and I blocked another attack with a dagger.

"My daggers and spikes are made from the same metal just weaker so you can handle them without thinking." I muttered pushing him down an alley when a chain caught my wrist and steam rose from where it touched. Hissing I pushed Kid ahead of me. "Girls get him out of here and get Kyle down here the chains won't hurt you!" I called.

"Right." The girls responded and Liz transformed back taking Patty from Kid and pushed him away fast. I growled wrapping my hand around the chain and pulled it towards me. Gritting my teeth through the pain I met the figure at the end of the chain with a knife. 

"Let me go you have no place attacking the Phoenix clan." I growled kicking him in the chest aiming higher than usual so I knew what I was dealing with male not female. If it was a girl she was a battery AAA bust poor thing.

"Ha I know that you are a reaper girl and that you are the only one left." He laughed like my blow did nothing to him. I kicked him again forcing my wave length making him cough slightly. He yanked at the chain on my wrist making me hiss and it bleed. He yanked again making me trip slightly before using that momentum and nailed the chain to the wall. "This will make it soo much easier for me to get you." He whispered in my ear before I stabbed him and kicked him when the sun don't shine. If he plays dirty I will too.

"I won't go without a fight." I growled as he slowly got up I reached around my waist and pulled out a spike and turned my belt to the left so I could access them better. " Come closer I dare you." I said my voice echoing around me.

"Gladly." he said taking the knife from his side and throwing it. It struck into my left elbow at the joint embedding the tip into the wall behind me. I screamed in pain and kicked at him with all my might before he chained my ankles and wrapped the chain up my legs and waist. He cuffed my left wrist and removed the dagger black blood running down my arm. I forced my arms to move and I hit him again and again forcing my fleeting soul into him keeping him away I just have to stall long enough for Kyle and Kid to get back. "Still fighting?? Hmm I guess that is to be expected from the mother of Reaper metal." He mused before stabbing me with his own pure blade  and I screamed. 

"Kitana! Hold on I am almost there!" I heard Kyle call and I saw purple flames. Kid? 

"Help!" I whimpered as the man pried me from the wall and threw me over his shoulder and started running. 

"Kitana!" Kid called from above I tried to break the man's grasp on my waist as he ran but I was too weak my soul getting smaller with every second that the chains were on my skin. 

"Kit!" Kyle shouted as he got closer. I looked up at him weakly before trying to reach for him the chains burning with my every move.

"Be safe." I whispered before I passed out.

Kyle's Pov

Horror. Pure horror. "Kit!!" I screamed as she just hung off the strangers shoulder and I saw Soul and Maka coming they must of heard something and came to investigate. Kid was on his skate board and in seconds I saw him disappear over the hill after the man and Kit.

"Uncle what's happened?" Soul asked as they caught up.

"Some one went after Kid and Kitana took the fall." I said panting. We ran after them for another ten minutes before we saw Kid on the ground passed out daggers in both shoulders Patty beside him out to it and Liz bleeding from a wound to the head. I picked up Kid whilst Soul carried Patty on his back and Maka helped Liz walk back to Death City. I patched Kid up and Stein saw to the Thompson girls. About and hour later Kid woke up and stumbled out of his room in only pants and his bandages. "Kid you should be in bed." I said as Maka and Soul walked up to greet him. He took another step tripping over his own feet and I caught him.

"A man has my sister and you expect me to sit around?" He said looking at me his face pale and shining from sweat.

"The same man has my wife and it kills me because I can't do anything without her." I replied before he nodded and passed out. I took his back to bed, I walked back to the living room running my hand through my hair and Maka walked up to me.

"Kyle why did you call Kitana your wife she's only 14." She asked.

"Maka Kitana is really Lady Death which is why Kid and I are so worried about her." I said slowly and she looked confused. 

"Soul did you know about this?" She asked and he looked at me.

"You have two options Soul tell the truth and face an angry Maka or Lie and face a pissed off Maka." I said raising my hands in defence.

"Yeah I knew Maka and Kyle is not my uncle but my ancestor. He was the original Scythe." Soul said slowly and Maka looked furious before taking a few calming breaths. She punched Soul then me shaking in anger.

"I know your mad Maka but right now I need to tell Lord Death what's happened." I said before standing up and getting the mirror out of my pocket and I called Lord Death.

"Hiya Kyle what's up? Awfully late to be calling isn't it?" He asked making me sigh. 

"Death this is serious and I have Maka and Soul to back me up. Kitana has been kidnapped and Kid got hurt trying to save her." I said and he looked at me I could feel his piercing gaze. 

"Call me back on a bigger mirror." He said before hanging up and I walked out to the hallway where a floor length mirror stood at the end. I called him again and he looked at me before nodding and reaching out of me and I helped to pull him through. "Where's Kid?" 

"In his room asleep. You will need to sit down for this." I said walking back to the lounge room.

"Hello Lord Death." Maka said standing to greet him.

"Hello Maka and Soul." Death said sitting down in one of the comfy arm chairs and we all followed suit. 

"Death, Kid will be fine but his soul energy is drained and Kit did have much chance she was wrapped in it." I sighed.

"Wrapped in what?" Maka asked.

"Reaper metal. Kitana designed it when the first Kishin arose and used it to help defeat it. It became the metal of choice for the Phoenix clan and it drains energy from the soul making Reapers weak. It has a similar effect on Meisters but it won't kill them if left on them for too long." I said and Death nodded.

"We need to find Kitana soon before she reverts back to a human to save herself." Death said slowly. making us all nod. 

"Maka try using your soul perception to find a wavelength like hers. The metal will disrupt her soul making it even harder to pinpoint Death you should start looking to and when we find her you and Kid will stay here no arguments." I said holding up my hand to stop his argument there is no telling how much metal this guy had and what he wanted from Kitana. I just hope that she is ok. I know I'm reaching but a guy can hope.
