I pulled my eyes away, looking at the two glasses from the night before, empty at the edge of his desk.

"Sit," he hissed. I sat in the same seat as before, balling up my hands in my lap as he sighed. "Why were you late?"

"I slept late, I'm sorry, sir," I muttered. He looked at me and frowned. I felt my palms become sweaty and my heart beat began to accelerate.

"That not allowed, Howell. Nobody else was late this morning." I hung my head and I heard him chuckle. "I supposed since this is your first offense, you could be forgiven." I sighed and smiled, running my hands through my hair. "I was going to go get lunch later by myself... Would you like to come with?" I was shocked, everything about him was so intense. I didn't know what his mood would be before I walked through the door.

"Uh, that sounds lovely, thanks." He smiled once more at me before waving me away. I stood up, light-headed, and walked to my desk in silence.
