Ash POV
I couldn't believe it! Wasn't it going far enough already?!
After our kingdoms were united, Ignis, my kingdom, was in outrage. We shouldn't have had to share with the other kingdoms all because of a stupid dream, and that's coming from someone who had the vision first hand!
But now, they went too far. They took down the academies including Ignia, my academy. Now they built Athena, where apparently I was supposed to attend.
I didn't see how some people, like Rebecca, my best friend, could have had such a positive perspective on this! I myself, didn't see what they were trying to achieve.
So I paced the floor of my big front room, one of my three brothers, Lane one the couch watching me. He was waiting for me to say what was on my mind.
"How could they do this?!" I exclaimed. "Athena's a huge joke!"
He seemed a little stunned by the sudden outburst, but replied quickly "Athena seems like a nice school, my friends told me they've seen the outside already and wish they could attend."
"Easy for you to say." I grumbled, plopping down onto a chair. When he gave me a quizzical look I said "You're already off in University."
"But sis," he said. "I'm sure you'll meet some new people there."
"You mean the know it all- nerdy- cry baby- frady cat- water benders?!" I asked with a lot of volume, listing everything that came to mind when thinking about the people of Mertle. He looked a little awkward, because any fire-bender could easily tell you Mertle was the worst of all the kingdoms.
"Then you'll kick their butts." he suggested jokingly.
Even though I knew he was only playing, I took it into consideration. "I'll kick their butts!" I said triumphantly, standing and storming out.
Now I want to earn my charm more than ever- so I can get out of this dumb school!
I charge into my room, leaving the door to a close behind me. My half packed suitcase lay open on the bed. I pushed that to the side, giving me enough room to at least sit on the covered bed.
Inside the suit case was my sports gear and Jerseys. I hadn't thought about what clothes I would bring, but I usually don't prep my attire.
Suddenly, a text appeared on my phone from Rebecca reading: "EEP! Toats exited 4 Athena! U?"
Oh my gosh, that girl is so girly. How did we of all people become friends?
"Not at all. Why should we mix with Mertle and the other kingdoms?!" I sent in reply.
"Ok, so ur NOT sicked. U do have a point there. Mertle totally sucks!" she texted back.
I got to my closet and started grabbing some decent outfits. The colors were mostly all black, gray, orange or red. The jeans were all ripped and edgy, and I had only basketball shorts. Nothing most girls I know wear. Then my T-shirts were goth, sporty and loose. Half of them were Lanes old shirts, because he was thin enough to make it a sizable short for me. Then I took a lot of socks and two pairs of shoes. My black boots, and red high top sneakers.
Another text soon appeared. "U done packing?" she had asked.
I answered "Almost."
Out of my books, I grabbed Ancient Fire Bender Legends, Magical Creature Glossary, Elemental Science, Brewing Concoctions and an old scrapbook. I put these with my notebooks and pencils in my school bag.
I tucked my m-p-3 player and bright red headphones into my big suitcase, then proceeded to grab various hair bands and black bracelets and put them in the same pocket.

Then, finally, I grabbed my blanket and pillow and pushed them into my luggage. Sighing in relief, I grabbed my phone and texted Rebecca "Done! Let's get this show on the road!"
She messaged my back immediately "EEP! Can't wait! See you tomorrow!"
