*A Walk in the Park*

Apollo's 'car' stopped, we were still thousands of feet in the air.

"Okay, I can't go any lower than this. Or else I'll burn the Earth extra crispy. So I need you," Apollo pointed at Nicholas, "To take her down safely. If I see so much as a scratch on Autumn-"

"I'm going to be fine." I roll my eyes.

Nick hops out of the sun roof. I grab my Gold and Silver bow, with the everlasting arrow. Before I hopped out I said, "Thanks Dad." That's the first time I called Apollo my 'dad'. It felt weird to call someone my dad. I've never had a father figure to look up to in my years of growing up.

He answered with a small smile. "Your welcome Sunshine, just...." his eyes filled with sadness. "Just be careful."

"I will." I reassure him and pull myself out of the sun roof. Now I was standing on the roof of the car with Nick. The air was calm, no bird, nor plane was in sight. It is very peaceful up here. Nick strapped his sword to his belt. Bent down and tied his shoes extra tight. He stood back up and held out his hand.

"You ready?" He asked me.

Am I ready? To go against horrifying monster? To face my enemy Erebus? To save Kasidee and Jessica? I take a deep breath keeping my courage contained. "Yeah." I grabbed his hand and he pulled me close.

"Hold on tight Lava Girl, or I might drop you." He smirked.

I look down at the lifeless clouds. If I fall, nothing Disney related would happen. I won't land softly on the fluffy clouds. I would fall through breaking into reality. "No problem with that, Jimmy John."

Nicholas jumped off of the car roof and a small scream escaped my lips. I closed my eyes. Gods I hate heights! Miraculously Nick still held onto me and flew through the air.

"Are you alright?" He asked over the sound of wooshing.

I nod slightly, still keeping my eyes tightly shut.

"It ok. We're almost landing. Just keep your eyes closed." After six minutes My feet touches the ground. I sigh in relief, Land! How I missed you so!

I fix my bow on my shoulder. " I prefer you running than flying." I fix my brown hair into a pony tail.

"Yeah I think I prefer running too." He replied.

It was still daylight. Towering pine trees scattered over the Neverending forests.

"Hey kids!" Nick and I freeze in one spot. Slowly in unison we turned around and 10 feet away from us was a couple. They both wore huge backpacks and had rock climbing gear. The couple looked middle-aged. The woman had a hiking stick. The man continued. "Are you two lost?"

"No but, do you know how close we are to Gardner Cave?" I ask.

The man stifles back a cough. "5 miles that way," he pointed south. "Do you want us to take you there?"

The wife tapped her husband on the shoulder. She took out a newspaper from her ginormous backpack and pointed at me. That was the same news paper I saw at the Supermarket in Pennsylvania.

The man spoke silently to his wife.

"Autumn." I hear Nick whisper.

"What Nick?" I answer.

"Go in my pocket and pull out a smoke bomb."

I follow his instructions and I pulled out a smoke bomb. "Throw it." He instucted. I threw the bomb and it exploded smoke on the couple. Nick grabbed my hand and with his super speed he ran south. Avoiding all the trees, rocks and twigs. We stopped on a road. On the road was a wooden sign that read "Entering Crawford Notch State Park"

"Good job, Flash." I pat him on the back.

"Thanks. Don't call me that."

In the distance was a large mountain. The trees acted like barriers to the mighty mountain.

I point at the mountain. "I guess our destination is in that mountain. You've already done enough. So I think we should just walk the rest of the way."

"Sounds like a plan to me." Nick wiped the sweat from his forehead.

"Well the only to get to the mountain, was to go through the forest. If we take the road, that will lead to civilization. If that couple knew me just by looking at me, then the whole state will too. So our best bet is to go through the forest."

"Yeah but didn't you hear what Annie said? She said that the monsters are waiting for us. So they might ambush us." Nick explained.

"I guess we just have to keep our eyes open and watch each others backs." I reply.

We start out trek in the lush pine forest. The only things that have crossed out path was pebbles, twigs, and an occasional squirrel. The only sounds that echoed in the forest was birds singing. I remember, in 4th grade, they taught us that when birds warn about danger the sing to each other.

The singing stops, now the forest was dead silent. I slip off my bow and nock an arrow in the bow string. Nick got out his sword. We moved slowly in a circle formation. Berry bushes rustled. I focus on the bush. Quickly, a black Hell hound pounced out of the berry bush. It's teeth ready to rip off my flesh. I released the arrow and it pierced directly in its eye. Bullseye! A new arror took place of the old one.It whined in pain and fell to the floor. Another Hell hound sprang into action. With a thoomp I shot an arrow and it stabbed into its heart. Nick was doing great. It took only one strike from his sword to kill the Hell Hounds instantly.

Now instead of Hell hounds, three Cyclops apearerd. One was a woman and the two others were males.

Nick stopped in his tracks and looked at the female Cyclops. "I-It's y-you!"

"Little boy we meet again." She showed her rotten teeth.

"Nick pay attention." I told him.

But he wouldn't move, he just stood there. I shoot an arrow at one of the males and he caught it.

"Look ma! I caught it!" He clapped.

"Good job son." The one named Ma went for me. I run. Her huge hand grabs my ankle and I tripped. My head collides against a rock on the forest floor.

"AUTUMN!" I hear Nick yell. Then my vision turns black.
