Chapter 30

*An Ending (part 2)*

Nick's P.O.V
--------------------

Autumn pecked me on the cheek and ran over to the cages.

I stood there in a daze. Autumn just kissed me! Well it was a peck, but still! My cheek felt warm and I could feel a little burnt mark. As soon as I touched my cheek my fingertips sizzled. Made my whole body flutter.

What was I supposed to do again? Oh yeah! I use my super speed to run over to the cyclops and past the monsters frozen in a trance.

"Ma, look!" One of the male cyclops pointed at me.

Ma's head turned to me. She smiled her crooked smile. The same smile she had on when she ripped Avery in half.

"Hello boy." Our weapons were on her belt. Her hair was long and greasy black. As if she dumped a gallon of oil on her head.

"Sump, go on the left!" Yelled the second male cyclops.

"No Torque, you go left!" Yelled Sump.

I run over to Ma. They both tried to catch me but they both fell on top of each other.

"You idiots!" She bellowed.

"Hey Sister Mavis how are you? Getting any uglier?" I stood in front of the thirty foot tall, Hyperborean Cyclops. "My, my your looking a little blue today." I laughed a little because her skin was blue.

"I AM MA GASKET! I am no longer Sister Mavis. To bad you left the orphanage that fateful day. You would've tasted so tender with the rest of the kids. But I'll enjoy this." Her large hand swiped at me. As if I was a pesky fly. I zipped out of the way. I run up her arm and on top of her head.

"Good talk." I commented. "Hey Sump over here." I waved my hands above my head.

Sump called out, "Don't move Ma! I got him!" He got up and with his two hands he tried to squish me like a bug.
I jumped off of Ma Gasket's oily hair.
Sump's huge hands missed me, but he slipped his mother's head. She got knocked out and I zoomed and grab our weapons from her waist belt.

I run past the other monsters frozen in place. I could see two globs of metal lying on the floor. The two Scythian Dracanae were knocked out. Autumn was melting the Jessica's cage with her bare hands, which made her glow as bright as a flashlight. She looked hot........well you know what I mean.

Autumn's P.O.V

As soon as I knocked out the two snake women, I go over to Jessica's cage and try to melt it. But this metal wasn't as easy as the others things I had melted. This was a special type of metal called Stygian iron.

"Autumn, as soon as you let me out of this cage. I'm going to cut off the trance. My head can't take it much more. So get ready for monsters attacking." Jessica informed me. Now my hands were white hot an the metal bars was now the color of bright orange.

I hear Nick's voice. "I got our weapons."

"What about your weapon?" I ask Jessica.

"I don't need any weapon." She pointed to her head. "I have this. Brains over Beauty."

The cage melted and Jessica was free. The rest of the monsters snap out of the trance. They saw us and charged forward.

I grab my bow out of Nick's hand. I fix an arrow in the bow string, I draw the string and release. I shot an Earthborn. Another arrow took its place in the bowstring.

"I'm going to get Kasidee!" I yell over the sound of growling. Jessica and Nick nod in reaponse. Nick was moving swiftly and fast killing every monster that faced him. Jessica's telekinesis was making monster one by one thrash, get completely thrown across the room, some of their brains exploded every where leaving a huge mess.

I race over to Kasidee's cage. Her back faced me. "Kasidee," I touched her back. "It's me Autumn."

As soon as I touched her she turned into dust. No more blonde and red curls, no more summer dress, no more Kasidee. I scream in agony and fall to the floor. Tears spill out of my eyes. Something repeats in my head. The song shall end from east to west. The same verse from the prophecy.

"Tsk Tsk tsk." A cold white hand placed on my shoulder. "What have you done?"

I quickly move and face Erebus. "No, what have you done? She.......was just a child. Why her?" Anger and Sadness coursed through my veins.

"Well I want to make my mistress happy. So one down, one more to go." He smiled sinisterly at me.

I draw the arrow in the bowstring. My tears made my vision blurry. I missed him. Another arrow took place in the bowstring.

Erebus grabbed my bow and threw it across the floor of the cavern. He grabbed my neck. "You and I could've been something special. But my mistress needs you dead to carry out the plan."

"Who......is......your....mistress." I breathe. His thumb was rested on my trachea. He pressed his thumb deeper crushing my windpipe.

"Oh no need to worry. You won't be alive to meet her anyways." My vision was slowly fading.

"Let her go!" An arrow was precisely shot into Erebus's leg.

"AHHH!" Erebus' grasp on my neck loosened. I kicked him in the gut. He fell backwards.

"Autumn," It was Will. Why did he come? "Are you okay?" He tilted my chin up. "Shit we need to take you back to camp. And heal that nasty bruise." He tried to pull me up.

"Let go of me." I slap his hand off of me. "I don't need help from anyone." Rage unlike any other filled me. I began to glow, white hot. "I wish I was away from all of you people. This wouldn't have happened if you slowed me down. I could've saved Kasidee when I had the chance, without you helping me."

All things weird started to happen. The monsters sank into nothingness. We weren't in the cave, we were in a sterling white landscape. Nothing but flat surfaces. The only people that stayed for a couple seconds was Nicholas, Jessica, and Will. They all were perplexed.

Will was ready to shoot another monster. The he looked around him. "What is going on?"

Jessica was trying to walk towards me. "We all need you to calm down, Autumn . I thought Kasidee was alive too. But it was all the trick of the Mist. I'm sorry I didn't figure it out sooner. I'm so sorry."

I didn't care about what they had to say. I didnt need sympathy. LAll I cared about was Kasidee. The light of my life. My only sunshine that I woke up and saw every day. Now she is gone. And it looks like I'll be leaving too. Where? I don't know.

Nick used his speed and ran up to me. Holding his hand out. His brown eyes staring into my green ones. Begging me to hold my hand out too. Before he was in reach, they all faded. Will, Jessica, and Nick were all out of the picture. All wiped off of the white canvas.

I closed my eyes. I was gone.
