Chapter 19

                        *Rest Stop*

I wake up and the chariot is no longer flying through the sky. Somehow it looked like we had landed in a lush evergreen forest. Thankfully, Nick was still in the chariot. But somehow Starburst was nowhere to be seen.

"Are you okay?" he asked.

"I'm fine." I answered. "But where's Starburst?"

"You were screaming in your sleep and you started to burn up. Literally. I landed the chariot hoping you would stop screaming." Nick said clearly oblivious that I just asked him a question. His brown eyes were full of concern. Which made me feel warm inside.

What if I was talking in my sleep? Sometimes I do talk in my sleep.Does he know what I was dreaming about?

Jessica started to stir in her sleep. Then her perfect eyelids fluttered open. Without any words she sat up from her sleeping position. She look around at our surroundings.

"Does anyone have some Tylenol?" Her hands place on her temples.

"Well good morning Sleeping Beauty." Nick smiled. He grabbed his backpack and started to dig through it. He pulled out a rectangular cardboard container. "Here you go."

Without hesitation Jessica snatched the box and took out the bottle of liquid Tylenol. She screwed the cap off and poured a small dosage in the lid and drank from it. "Thanks Nicholas. What else do you have in that bag?"

Nick dumped out all sorts of things. Like handcuffs, duct tape, paperclips, smoke bombs, water balloons(already filled), paint balls, water, golden coins, nectar, ambrosia, and US dollars. Our jaws dropped to the floor of the chariot.

"This is my bag of tricks." Nick smiled. He saw the surprised expressions on our faces. "I'm the son of Hermes, remember? The Messenger of the gods, god of trade, thieves, travellers, sports, athletes, border crossings, and guide to the Underworld."

"We get it Nick, but we are on a quest. We cant waste our time stealing candy from the candy store, or robbing a bank." Jessica refuted.

Nick pouted. "I know. I just wanted to do something fun and exiting. I mean, look, we are out of Camp Half- Blood." He gestures with his arms. "We can practically do whatever we want."

"No we can't because we have a deadline." I spoke.

There was a long pause. Jessica broke the silence. "Well how long do we have?"

"In my dream the man in the dark clothing said that the solar eclipse will happen in a week. He also said that we can find my sister's location if we solve this question. What state is called the beehive state."I explained.

Jessica looked stunned for a moment.

"So let me get this straight." Nick said. "We have one week to save your sister. And the dude in the dark clothing is in a place that has a lot of bees."

"Close enough." I shrugged.

"Well then what's the plan then?" Nick asked.

"First we need food, then we need to get out of this forest. It could be brewing with monsters." Jessica gazes into the thick forest.

I get out of the chariot and cupped my hands around my mouth. "Starburst! C'mere girl!"

Nick runs to me and pulls me into the chariot. "What are you thinking? You might as well say 'Hey monsters we are here! Come and get us!' Plus I've tried to call for her and it won't-"

"Neigh!" I heard off in the distance. I run through the trees. The sound led me to a beautiful meadow. All kinds of flowers blossomed and flourished in the green lands. Starburst descended from the sky in a glorious golden light. She landed in a patch of grass in front of me.

In a blink of an eye, Nick was by my side. "Work."

I wrap my arms around her neck and give her a hug. "Hey girl. I'm sorry I scared you away."

She answered with a grunt as if to say, 'We're cool girl. Just don't do that again, you scared me half to death.'

We walked back to the chariot. Jessica was waiting for us.

"Starburst looks tired." She pointed out.

Starburst nodded in response.

"I knew I've should've brought my pegasus." She mumbled. "She could've helped Starburst with all this weight and stress."

"You have a pegasus too? What's it's name?" I asked.

"Potato." Jessica said.

I left the conversation at that. "Okay how about we eat and Starburst can rest for a while."

Nicholas clapped his hands. "Sounds like a plan to me. Bring out the cornucopia Jessica."

Jessica unraveled the leather strap that rested on her shoulder. She dumped out sandwiches, chips, and water bottles from the conucopia.

We began to chow down. "This is delicious! Who knew a hand woven basket held such good food."

"It wasn't always a basket of everlasting food. Piper told me that she got this from a quest. Her and Jason met a river god named Achelous. He used to have two horns but the other one was broken off by Hercules. The Argo II had to get pass the islands but Hercules wouldn't let them. So Piper and Jason said that they would do something for Hercules if he would let their ship and crew pass. Hercules told them to get the other horn from Achelous. When they confronted him Piper figured out that Hercules was a big jerk and she couldn't bear to see the river god in pain again. But sadly the Argo II had to get pass because they were on a time crunch. So she took the horn and it became the horn of everlasting food." Jessica finished.

"What was so important about this quest?" I ask.

"That story is for another time." Nick interrupted. "The sun is about to set."

"And I know where your sister is located." Jessica said softly.

"How?" I ask.

"Because I grew up there."
