Cosette woke up to cold sweat and her own screams. She wish that Marius was there with her, but he was gone. And nobody knows where too. She picked up her phone and dialed the number one.
"Enjolras," she panted. Cosette rolled herself up in her blanket and pulled her legs in close. With one finger on the trigger of her gun, and the others tightly wrapped around the cold metal, she rubbed her thumb in circles around the rough surface.
"Again?" Enjolras' voice came through the speaker. He sounded awfully tired, and you could hear Rs' snoring in the background.
"Again."
Cosette shoved the gun into her belt, put on her black leather jacket, placed her badge around her neck and walked down to the 24-hour bar.
"Two cups-extra caffeine if that's possible." Enjolras signaled the lady at the bar.
"You look terrible."
"It's three in the morning, Cosette. I'm not gonna look like I just came out of a unicorns' ass." Enjolras grumbled. He looked up to see that Cosette was fairly distressed, and sighed. "Alright-bring 'em out."
Cosette brought out a manilla folder that said, "Inactive" stamped on the front. First bringing out the picture of Azelma on the floor-dead. Then the information from her rape kit, then everything else.
"Azelma Thenardier died December 17th, 2003. Gunshot wound to the chest, piercing lung causing blood to fill lungs. Evidence shows there was a rape around 2 hours before death. Brother says he was kept captive while sister was in the next room with another man. Man was described as white male, mid thirties, blonde hair blue eyes, slight build."
"Gavroche said it was unclear and that the man was wearing a mask-" Enjolras started.
"Gavroche is our only witness that is alive-I've decided to take his word for it." Cosette snapped, and continued to read her notes.
"The man escaped through the window in Eponine's room. Azelma was able to scratch and bite the man-leaving DNA samples underneath the nails and teeth. Azelma was not only raped-she was tortured and burned on her inner thighs-restraints holding back her hands and legs."
"Cosette-"
"Seminal ev-"
"Euphraisa!" Enjolras shouted. Cosettes' cold eyes shot up at Enjolras. "Grantaire called. There's been another hit on the serial homicide/rape."
