Sarah Beth-
When I got home from St. Mungo's I was so tired that I made Rufus carry me to bed. I instantly fell asleep.
When I woke back up, I was alone. Judging by the light peeking through my window, it was around seven or eight o'clock at night. I reached up and touched my throat. It was hurting and dry, not to mention I was practically dying of thirst. I needed something to drink.
"Auntie!" I hoarsely yelled. She rushed into the room, putting on a house robe.
"What is it, dear?" She sleepily asked as if she had also just waken up.
"I'm thirsty, Auntie."
"Okay. I'll go get you something, but next time can you ask Twinkle instead of me?"
"Yes." I coughed.
"Very well." She turned around and went into the hallway. "Oh!"
"Dolores, go back to bed. Don't fret over her. I told you, I will care for her until ten."
"Cornelius, I-"
"Go back to sleep. You'll need it in case she needs something tonight or if she gets worse."
"Fine." I heard my aunts door close.
"How do you feel, Sarah Beth?" Mr. Cornelius entered.
"Terrible... and I'm thirsty...Twinkle!" The elf Apparated next to the bed.
"Yes, Miss?"
"Will you bring me some apple juice?"
"Yes, Miss." She smiled and Disapparated.
"Do you need anything else?" Mr. Cornelius asked and brushed some hair out of my face.
"When will I be better?"
"Your aunt said that the healer said in three or four days."
"Oh," I squinted my eyes trying to remember anything the healer had said. The only thing I could recall is sleepily laying my head on Rufus's shoulder as the healer stuck a thermometer in my mouth, and then start talking to Auntie. "Is Rufus here?" Mr. Cornelius chuckled.
"Somehow, I knew you were going to ask that. Yes, he is here. I'll go tell him you're awake." He left the room.
Pop!
Twinkle handed me the juice.
"Thank you."
"You're welcome, Miss." She Disapparated. I sat silently and sipped until Rufus came in.
"Do you feel any better?" He sat on the edge of the bed.
"No, I feel worse..." I shivered. "Ruffie, will you come up here with me?"
"Yeah." I scooted over and made room for him. He sat up with his back against the headboard. I got as close to him as I could in hope that his body would help warm my own. "Do you want to listen to your Cats album?" He untied my bow and started playing with it.
"No..." Cats was no fun to listen to if you didn't have the energy or the voice to sing along with it. "Will you tell me a story?" He smiled.
"Yeah. Do you have a certain one you want to hear?"
"Mmmm..." I thought. "The Tale of Three Brothers." That one was always my favorite.
"Okay, Once-"
"Wait!" I exclaimed. "I need to get comfy!" He laughed.
"Okay. I'll wait." After sitting up a bit, leaning against him, and a few minutes of squirming I was finally ready.
"You good?" He looked down at me.
