A few moments later, Cameron and I were walking side by side, on the way to his house. Although we were both silent, the feelling of it all was very happy. I was smiling, and so was he. In a matter of no time, we were at his front door.
His house on the outside was very homey. Flower planters lined the windows and the trim of the white house was a deep mahogany color. The front lawn was lush and green, with pink and orange rose bushes lining the path to the front door. I bent down to smell them, and they smelled amazing. I already felt like I was welcome. Cameron pulled out his keys and unlocked the front door.
"Hey mom! I'm home, and I brought Adriana!" I just stood in the doorway, not sure what to do. Cameron looked back at me and smirked.
"Well, come on," He said smiling gesturing me to come inside. I took a few steps foward, and closed the door behind me. I heard little pitter patter of feet and soon I saw little KAtrina running toward me, smiling wide and screaching giggles. Her infectious laughter made me smile myself and I bent down to give her a hug.
Katrina ran right into my arms and hugged me so tightly. I hugged her back, giggling myself. I looked up and saw Cameron with a strange look in his eyes. But as soon as he noticed me looking at him, he smiled at me. It's always concerning now when Cameron has that look in his eyes. I don't know if he's just thinking or if he can hear thoughts... I don't know.
Katrina let go of me and smiled so widely.
"Adi, why are you here?" She asked lightly. I blushed a little. Only Anders called me Adi.
"Well, I'm not sure why. Your brother asked me to come over and I said yes!" I replied smoothly. Katrina was about to say something when another voice cut her off.
"Katrina where are you running- Oh! Hello there, you must be Adriana! My name is Marie." A woman, ultimatedly Cameron's mother, walked out into the room.
She was just as beautiful as Cameron. Long chocolate curls cascaded down her thin face, and her intense green eyes watched me gently. I blushed. This whole family was fucking gorgeous!
"Oh, hi there," I stammered. Marie seemed to glide over to me. Like, she didn't bounce when she stepped. It was like she hovered over to me. Marie opened her arms up and gently hugged me. It was a strange feeling at first because her grip was tight but her hug was soft at the same time.
"Aw! Group hug!" Cameron said aws he walked over and put his arms around both of us. Katrina giggled and hugged my legs. I heard more footsteps walk down the hallway. I looked up to see who it was. My eyes widened.
The boy, more like man who stood in front of me, was no doubt Cameron's brother. He had bluish-gray eyes, a hard jaw line, and spiked dirty brown hair. Tattoos laced around his forearms and along the sides of his toned muscles. Although his features were gorgeous, he gave me this nasty look.
"Well well, what's going on in here?" He asked with an attitude. Everyone pulled off of me and looked at him.
"What do you want Jared?" Cameron sighed angrily. the vibe in the room suddenly became uncomfortable. No one was talking, but everyone was staring. I looked up at Cameron, whose face twitched in anger. I turned to look at Marie who was holding Katrina closer to her.
"Um..." I spoke quietly. The guys eyes darted to me. He lifted and eyebrow and halfway smirked.
"And who are you little miss?" Jared asked as he crossed his arms. I felt intimidated, and felt my face go red.
"Hahaha, what's the matter, girl? All I did was ask you a question!" He bellowed. Feeling the need to answer him, I spoke up.
"Adriana..." I looked to the ground, trying to avert his gaze.
"Hey now, finish it up! What's you're last name?" Jared asked. Talking to this guy felt like walking on a active volcano...not that I's know.
"P-Pennington!" I blurted out. He smiled a little and held out a hand.
"As you may have guessed, I'm Jared." I felt reluctant to grab his hand, but I did anyway. As soon as I gripped his hand, he pulled me and he began to run down the hallway. I heard Cameron shouting for him to stop, but Jared didn't listen."
"H-Hey! Where are we going?" I asked in between pants. I felt his grip on my hand tighten as I asked. WE went up a flight of staris, and then down another hallway. Was the house really this big?
Jared did a sharp left turn and we ended up in a room with walls plastered with posters. Jared slamed the door closed and leaned against the door, panting. I put my hands on my knees and tried to get some air.
I looked up at Jared and noticed he was no longer panting and was instead staring at me with his arms crossed. His stare made me very nervous.
"U..Um.."I stammered. His eyebrows narrowed as soon as I started talking, so was quiet. After a few intense seconds of silence, her sighed loudly and walked toward his bed. I backed away and pressed my back against the wall. He just lifted an eyebrow and layed down on his bed, reading a magazigne.
"W-why?" I tried asking. Jared kept his eyes on the pages.
"Because." He muttered. I sighed.
"Because...why?" I asked again. Jared huffed and sat up.
"Because, this is the only way I can talk to you. Those...people don't really consider me family." Jared murmered. I don't know why it did, but I felt sympathy for him. I guess it was just the way he said it. I shifted uncomfortably and looked to the ground.
"So, you a friend of Cameron?" He asked awkwardly. I looked up at him. Jared looked fairly uncomfortable himself.
"Oh, uh yeah.. He's a pretty nice guy." I replied. He looked up at me and our eyes locked for a moment before we both looked away.
"This is the first time Cam has ever brought a girl home." I looked up at him. I thought to myself I'm the first girl Cameron had every brough over..?
"Hey, are you listening?" I jumped and looked back up at him.
"Oh, no, sorry. What were you saying?" Jared sighed and looked the floor, thinking.
"I was saying how odd it is for him to bring you over. Mom would ask him all the time if he wanted to invite people over, and he always said no." He looked up at me with a mischeivious face.
"I wouldn't be suprised if he likes you."
