#16: Detour

Yui's been spending time at HOMRA. College life gave her a lot of free time so she used it to hang out with Anna and Yata. "You're so fun to be with, Yata-san", Yui appreciated while both of them are walking at the street. Anna have to be in the care of Kusanagi since the Green are scattered. "Do you know why Brother left HOMRA?", Yui asked. "I just learned that", Yata answered. Yui looked down and felt pity that they cannot be together just like how she wanted. "Yata-san, can you help me?", Yui and Yata ended at a park. They sat at the park bench. "Anything", Yata said while drinking soda. "Can you help me forget my feelings for Brother?", Yui asked. Yata spurted the soda and coughed. "What a sad life", Yata commented looking at a problematic child beside him. "You cant just help but to see him occasionally", Yata stretched. "What made you say that?", Yata asked. "During the fireworks display at Yaeyama. Brother told me something unexpected", Yui narrated. "I cannot be someone who can return your feelings", Yui added. "He must have noticed", Yata twitched his eyes. "Eh!!! Wait, why are you asking me?!!!", Yata panicked. "You're the only one I can ask", Yui begged. "That's so cruel of you", Yata gave up and nodded.

The next day, it was Saruhiko's day off. Yui went out early to avoid him. They are living on a condominium. Saruhiko entered and saw Kashima and Yuri playing cards. "Where is Yui?", Saruhiko asked. "She went out. Maybe having a date", Kashima inferred. "How about you? You're getting too old", Kashima commented. "Oh, why dont we arrange a meeting for you?", Kisa entered the picture. "Then, let me also ask why you are always at the headquarters?", Saruhiko asked. "Uhmm.. Having some chit-chat with a King", Kisa answered and cleared her throat. "Allow her already, Saruhiko. Your mom is getting older and older. She needs someone", Yuri teased. "Mom, thats not it", Kisa said shyly. "So everyone is busy", Saruhiko sat at the sofa. "I already mailed my friends. Saruhiko, go fix yourself. We'll be meeting some girls", Kashima pushed him. He's wearing a long sleeved blue polo and a white vest with black pants. Kashima and Saruhiko went inside a restaurant. A girl in blue pony tailed hair is sitting next to the window. "Huh? Vocaloid's vocalist? Miku?", Saruhiko raised his brow. They've been talking all about music. Meeting session ended. Next person is a peach haired girl. "Dont you have Kazuto? Asuna-san?", Saruhiko face palmed. Next is a girl in maid suit. "Misaki-san, Usui will kill me", Saruhiko sighed. Tona of girl came but no one really caught Saruhiko's attention. "You're a picky one", Kashima humphed. Saruhiko took an escape and walked on the street. He saw Yata teaching Yui how to play the skateboard. Yui slipped by Yata caught her in his arm. Saruhiko ignored them and went strolling. Along the way, he met Anna. "Anna? Arent you suppose to be with Kusanagi-san?", Saruhiko asked. They went to a cafe. Anna ordered a lot of kids food. Saruhiko's done eating so he just ordered coffee. "Saruhiko-san, how is Reishi?", Anna asked. "The Slate is affecting much of his power", Saruhiko answered. "Are you sure of what you told Yui-san?", Anna asked. "Ah, did she tell you that one?", Saruhiko smiled. "She's the only person, aside from Misaki, who can make you smile like that", Anna commented. "She wants a family",Saruhiko averted his eyes. "Days ago, he asked Misaki to make helo her forget his feelings for you. Are you willing to wait for that to happen?", Anna asked. "As long as she's happy", Saruhiko answered.

"Sacrificing for the sake of others had always been your nature", Anna smiled. Saruhiko patted her head and walked out. "Saruhiko, you shouldnt be hitting on elementary girls", Kashima had been watching the whole time. Saruhiko got chill down his spine. They both went home. Yui and Yuri are watching the news. "Saruhiko, Kashima. Welcome home", Yuri hugged them. "Welcome home",Yui said in a soft voice. After a long chat, they decided to sleep. Saruhiko got work so he has to leave but he went inside Yui's room first. "Yui, dont go with Yata so often just this time", Saruhiko warned. "Why not?!" Yui asked loudly. "Dont be such a brat. Thr Green Clan are attacking clansmen lately", Saruhiko explained. "I can protect myself", Yui pouted. "You dont know what they are capable of doing", Saruhiko said. Yui remained silenced. "You're no longer the usual you", Saruhiko left those words then exited. Yui ignored Saruhiko's warning and still decided to visit Yata at HOMRA. The mess yesterday was already clean. Yui sat at the sofa. "What's with that grumpy face?", Yata asked. "Brother told me not to wander since the Green clan is going wild", Yui answered. "I think you should listen to him", Yata suggested while serving a cup of tea. "I can manage myself. In fact, Enomoto-san is having a sword training with me every other afternoon. So I might be visiting late at night.", Yui boasted. Yata sighed and gave a slight punch on Yui's forehead. "Saruhiko lost a lot of things, dont make him suffer again", Yata adviced. That night, Tokyo was in a state of calamity. There are explosions everywhere. Saruhiko called Yui.

Saruhiko: Yui, dont you dare go out tonight.

Yui: Where are you? There's a a lot of explosions lately.

Saruhiko: Tell Mom to go home early and lock yourselves.

Yui: wait-

Saruhiko ended the call.

This scenario will be during the time Mihashira tower was destroyed because of The Green Clan.
