#19: Melting and Boiling Point

Saruhiko gave a piggy back ride for Kauri while they exited the park. "Geez, you look like kids", Misaki commented. Yui faked a laugh. "I'll just go buy something", Yui excused then left. Saruhiko dropped Kauri. Misaki caught her in the moment. "Dont treat a girl like that", Misaki lectured. "Why did you bring her with us?", Kauri asked. "Did you tell me not to?", Saruhiko asked. Yui returned and held out a bottled water to Kauri. "Hmm....why are you treating me this way? The first time we met... You were like 'don't you dare touch Saruhiko", Kauri teased. "It's because you are my sister-in-law", Yui answered. Kauri's eyes widened in bewilderment. Misaki sighed and drag Yui away from the two soon-to-be lovers. Kauri stiffened and looked at Saruhiko. "Your sister got your teasing abilities", Kauri laughed. "It's true", Saruhiko said in a serious voice. "Oi~ Saruhiko...dont make me a pawn of your stupid plan", Kauri slapped the back of his head. Saruhiko caught her hand and faced her. "Kauri Tadashi, I like you", Saruhiko confessed. Kauri was taken back and was speechless. "Let me rephrase that, I'll do my best to like you", Saruhiko averted his eyes. "Monkey! Dont get full of yourself. I wont be your pawn. And plus, there's tons of girls out there. You can just pay them", Kauri withdrawn her hand. "I dont want someone who would just love my money. You're the only person who took me in when I had nothing", Saruhiko dropped his head at Kauri's shoulder. Kauri pushed him and cupped his face. "If you're too desperate to forget your feelings for Yui. You cannot use me, I dont want to hurt her feelings", Kauri explained. "Sorry, but I really think I like you", Saruhiko pressed his lips against Kauri's forehead. "I dont understand you", Kauri hugged him. "The day you will understand me, will never come", Saruhiko smiled. Misaki and Yui are watching from the distance. They cannot hear the conversation. Yui clutched on her chest but hid it from Misaki.

Condominium....

Yui went ahead and saw Kisa and Reishi, in Scepter Uniform, having chit-chat at the living room. "Captain?!!!", Yui was Shocked. "Ah... Yui, good evening", he greeted. "What are you doing here?", Yui asked. "Just here to ask Kisa-san for advices", Reishi answered. "Advices?", Yui raised her brow. "Seri and I will get married soon", Reishi's word made Yui cough. "Seriously?!!!", Yui asked loudly. I thought he's hitting on mother. "Then, take your time", Yui bowed and headed to her room. Images a while ago flashed back on her mind. She dove into her bed and rested her mind. I never thought it would be this hard. When I signed that paper, have I ever thought that there's a possibility that I'd regret it? The only person that cannot touch brother's heart, is me. A knock disturbed her. She opened it and saw Yuri. She let her enter the room. "Where were you the whole day?", Yuri asked. "I was with Brother, Yata-san, and Kauri-san", Yui answered. "Kauri?", Yuri raised her brow. "Ni-san's girlfriend", Yui informed in a low voice. Yuri twitched her mouth in amusement. "So he is really a guy", Yuri laughed. Yui nodded and averted her stares. "What's with the sad look in your eyes?", Yuri asked. Yui panicked and look for reasons. "If he gets married, then that means I can no longer have a quality time with him like before...as siblings", Yui explained. "Hmmm...", Yuri hummed. Yuri saw a picture frame on Yui's table. It was a picture from the beach when both of them are looking for shells. "Yui, do you...", Yuri was cut off by Saruhiko's cough. "Grandma, I brought someone today", Saruhiko informed. Yui knew it was Kauri.

The three of them went downstairs. At the living room is a pretty looking lady. Kisa and Kashima's already having a conversation with her. They are laughing because of Kauri's puns. Yuri sat next to Kisa. Saruhiko sat beside Kauri and Yui with Kashima. "Let me introduce, Kauri Tadashi", Saruhiko said shyly. "You should be proud of her", Kisa pouted. "Nice to meet you", Kauri signalled a peace sign. Yui was quiet the whole time. "I'll go and prepare tea", she excused. Yuri smiled and sighed. At the kitchen, Yui's gripping on the sink to stop her tears from falling. Is this how it feels to have a broken heart? A moment of silence in her world. She breathe deep. She smiled and put her game face on. She served the tea. Yui's finally recovering from her lose but fragments of pain still remains.

The next day at Fushimi Company....

Kisa checked the stocks and it's increasing. Thanks to her son. Yuri entered her office. "We'll be leaving after a week, take care of Saruhiko and Yui", Yuri instructed. "Yes, mom", Kisa stood and bowed. Yuri smiled and left her office. She met Yui along the way. "My, my, dear granddaughter. Shall we have a coffee break?", Yuri dragged her into a cafe shop. It has an antique design. The sat next to the window. "Do you know where this place is?", Yuri asked. "It's called Forest Cafe", Yui answered. "As I though you would say", Yuri chuckled. "This is where your grandfather and I met", Yuri narrated. "His face is painted with the title of 'boss' . Girls are crawling over him", Yuri added. Yui just listened while sipping through her coffee. "That was the time when my heart came to life", Yuri informed. "That was a cute love story Grandma", Yui praised. "We all have our own. We have different stories. But...not all..ends up in a good way", Yuri looked straight into Yui's eyes. "I want to hear it from you, Yui. Do you... Like Saruhiko?", Yuri held Yui's hand. Yui's eyes formed tears and she bowed her head. "I cant", Yui wiped her tears with her other hand. "Sorry grandma, I dont know why I am crying and why I am not denying it", Yui covered her face with her hands. "Because you're tired denying it", Yuri explained. "I'm tired, Grandma", Yui sniffed. "What do you want to do?", Yuri asked. "Even if I decline to be a part of Fushimi, Saruhiko will still look at Kauri-san. Plus, I wont leave mother, you and grandpa. I just...need...just need a detour. A time where I can finally let go", Yui smiled while tears are flowing from her eyes. Yuri patted her shoulders. "Sorry grandma, I can do this. I know you are there for me. Mother is also there, I could not ask for more", Yui wiped her tears. "Ah... That's right. I've got you and the rest of the people. My world doesnt revolve around brother", Yui smiled.

Time for a twist in the plot...

So let's see. Kauri is not someone to get angry at. She's just a victim of Saruhiko's overwhelming coolness!!!
