Eren runs into the packed club and stops immediately. Levi dancing on the stage to Insomniac by Trip Lee. For a moment, Eren can't believe that Levi has been missing these past weeks.

Hanji had called the young boy and told him that Levi had finally shown up for work, but not without Erwin.

Levi drags himself around the pole, circling his hips lazily and smirking at his victims in the crowd. This may not be his best show, yet the crowd still loves him. The leather shorts on his thighs shimmer in the stage lights, and a baby pink corset covers the toned chest I know too well.

"Eren!" Hanji calls me over to the bar while Levi finishes his dance.

"What is he doing here?" I hiss and watch Levi walk off the stage, with a slight limp I hadn't noticed before.

"Guess Erwin finally let him out of his cage." She replies bitterly. Hanji must hate Erwin almost as much as I do. Almost.

"Levi!" Hanji yells and calls the short man over. He rolls his eyes and walks over to Hanji.

"What do you want shitty glasses?" He asks irritably, causing her to frown and me to scoff. He's acting like nothing happened.

"Where have you been?!" She shrieks in his ear, so he winces and shrugs.

"Busy." He won't meet her eyes. Goddamn.

"We all know that's bullshit." I growl, surprising Levi.

"Watch it kid." He eyes me warily, as if he's not sure what my reaction is gonna be. Then, as soon as it came, his wariness is replaced with his guard, "I have to talk to you in private anyway."

"Fine."

Levi tugs me into a private office and locks the door behind him. I'm surprised that Hanji hasn't followed us, she seemed just as concerned about Levi as I was.

"Talk." I demand and take a seat in the black desk chair.

"Look kid, this you and me thing, it ain't gonna work?" Levi isn't meeting my eyes, which pisses me off.

"Who said it won't, you or Erwin?" My voice is sharp, but at this point I don't care. His head whips away at the mention of Erwin's name. "So that's it huh? He told you no so you won't?" Levi doesn't answer. It makes me want to laugh. The great Levi, actually listening to what someone says? No fucking way.

"Since when are you just a whore for someone else?" I spit my words at him like venom, knowing they'll have the same effect.

"I'm no ones whore." Levi growls, stalking over to me and grabbing my shirt collar, "I make my own decisions. I don't belong to anyone." He backs away. I reach out to touch his face but he swipes my hand away.

"If you don't belong to anyone, then why do you let him control you?" Now it's my turn to avoid his eyes. My voice is just a whisper, "I could love you so much more than him... If you'd only give me a chance." I force him to look at me, "What did he do Levi? Please let me help you."

He stares into my eyes,  as if he's fighting with himself. After a long moment, Levi sighs, "I'm fine Eren." And he kisses me. It's a kiss filled with apologies and regret. I watch as he leaves the room. And even though I know that he'll be back, my chest hurts and tears drop down my face.

Because that kiss was a goodbye.
Because I had fallen in love with this hard man.
Because I knew that I was going to loose him.
