"No way! He kissed you?" exclaimed Amaryllis excitedly.

Heat rushed to my cheeks and that was enough of an answer for her.

"And he confessed that he likes you as well right?" I simply nodded and willed my cheeks to cool down. Amaryllis was practically bouncing in her seat. "Amaryllis, can you please keep your eyes on the road?" This girl had the attention of a goldfish sometimes.

"Wait, does that make you guys official?" squealed Amaryllis. I wonder why she seems much more excited about this than me, not saying that I'm not. "I don't know. It's not like anything serious is going to happen right after confessing our feelings. It doesn't work that way."

I should really tell Ryder. I wonder how he'll take it.

I saw Ryder at the end of the hallway. I wanted to approach him and tell him about my feelings when I saw him take a turn to the left.

I wonder where he's going. I only had ten minutes to talk to him before the bell starts to ring, signalling the start of classes. I quickened my pace but stopped short when I heard murmurings. The end of the hallway was pretty quiet since everyone went to class.

I heard someone saying, "Craving for me already huh." I know I shouldn't be eavesdropping but I went and did it anyway. I peered around the corner and stilled.

There standing in front of the janitor's closet was Ryder. But oh, he wasn't alone. In fact, he was with Jessica. It was shocking really. Of all people, it had to be her. Not to mention, they were standing too close to comfort. I was lost for words.

What was he doing with her? My question was answered when Jessica placed her hand on Ryder's chest and seductively said, "Hey, we have time for a little heart to heart." I didn't want to stay long to find out what heart to heart meant but I had a clear idea of what she meant. Ryder then pulled Jessica into the closet but I was already heading towards class, barely containing my tears.

Amaryllis noted the look on my face and opened her mouth to speak but I signalled her with a look that said later. I had to collect my thoughts and not break down. I was distracted by my own thoughts to even listen to Ms Claudette teaching Trigonometry or was it Algebra.

The bell rang. Amaryllis tapped me and said, "Lunch. Tell me everything." and we walked to our next lesson before lunch. The minutes ticked by and soon enough, it was time to tell Amaryllis.

"So, spill. What's with the change of mood?" questioned Amaryllis. I sighed. "I walked in on Ryder with a girl. Oh, you're going to love this. The girl happens to be our favourite person," I spat out the words with venom.

"You have got to be joking with me," said Amaryllis with wide eyes. I shook my head. "That bitch! How could she? Wait, Ryder too. How could he?" exclaimed Amaryllis. "Shh, keep it down!" Apparently, we had attracted attention from the neighbouring table.

"But why?" was all I could say. "I'll kill him the next time I see him," screeched my best friend. I just rested my head on my hands. This was too much to think about right now. "Oh look, speak of the Devil and he shall appear."

"Ladies, what's up? I was getting bored from all the lessons." What's up? He has the nerve to be all normal as if nothing happened a few hours ago. Oh, I'll tell him what's up. Amaryllis and I glared at him. "Woah there, what's with the death stares?" joked Ryder. "Really Ryder? You really want to know what's up?" I said calmly but inside, I was fuming.

"Bored huh. I'm pretty sure you had lots of fun just now." Ryder looked confused. I would have felt bad but I know what I saw. "How is Jessica?" It was then his face lit up with recognition but only for a split second. "Jessica? I don't know what you mean," said Ryder innocently.

He really wants to play innocent. Well, two can play that game. "I guess that must be some kind of crave, right Ryder?" I smiled ever so sweetly at him. His face was devoid of emotion. "Hey Amaryllis, let's go before I start craving for blood."
