"Wait, Kari," he said, pulling away from me and standing up. "I don't think we should be doing that."

"What? Why?" I asked, still feeling the warmth of his lips against mine.

"You just got out of a relationship and I just feel like this is not the right thing to do," he said. I stood up and started to walk towards the door.

"Okay," I said. My feelings were a little hurt, rejection's never a good feeling. I was just gonna go home.

"Kari," he said, coming over and grabbing my arm. I turned and he put his other hand on my waist and pulled me up against him. The hand that grabbed my arm went to my cheek. "You're vulnerable. I don't want to take advantage of you and you regret it later."

"I never regret anything," I said and looked right into his eyes. "Especially when I wanted it before I broke up with my boyfriend."

I could tell in his eyes he was trying to restrain himself. Finally, he gave in and kissed me softly. Then stopped again. "I don't want to ruin our friendship. I don't want you to hate me later."

"Don't think about later," I said.

He grinned. "Come on."

"Where are we going?" I asked when he started pulling me towards the back door.

"We're gonna watch the sun go down," he responded as he pushed the sliding glass door open and went outside. He stepped up onto the wide wooden railing then up onto the roof. I followed him up there and we sat, watching the sun slowly fall under the horizon like a blanket.

It was extremely cold as I sat next to him. I started to shiver slightly and Chris pulled me up against him. It was pretty romantic. I laid my head on his shoulder and listened to his soft breathing.

My eyelids grew heavy and soon I slipped into unconsciousness.

I woke up to a pitch black room and slightly freaked out, I forgot where I was for a few seconds. Then, long tattooed arms pulled me closer to a warm chest. I smiled and relaxed in Chris's grasp. I pulled my phone out of my pocket and looked at the time. 3:30 a.m.  I sighed. No point in going home now. I put my phone back in my pocket and slid my arms around Chris's arm, falling back into sleep easily.

So I know this chapter kind of sucks but it'll get better. I swear, I just need to wait a little bit longer. ;)
