A/N sorry this update is late again. I'm going to write a ton today so that I do not keep you guys waiting anymore for a while. Also wanted to give a thanks to densilucaya for always supporting my stories!!! I'm going to start recognizing a reader in every chapter I write because I have so many supportive readers.

Maya's POV
As soon as we walked in the house we were greeted by Pappy Joe "Maya! Glad you could make it." He smiled "Wouldn't miss it." He smiled "I was just telling Lucas how lucky he is to have friends like you, Riley, and Farkle before he left to pick you up at the airport." I gave Lucas a teasing smirk "What would you do without us, huckleberry?" he rolled his eyes "come on, let's get your suitcases up to the guest room" "I don't need help" he just smiled and replied unfazed "it wasn't a question" we set the bags down in what was my room for the next month. I looked over to Lucas and he gave me a serous look "I can't stay in this house another minute. Let's go somewhere." I hid the surprise I felt at his request."Where do you want to go?" I asked. "I want food. Want to go to chubbies?" "Sure" I faked a smile at the memory of the only place I had ever eaten in Texas. Last time I had eaten there Riley, Lucas and I had all been very confused and their was quite a bit of tension between the 3 of us. This had all been due to the revelation that I liked Lucas. He drove down the road blaring country music the whole way. He laughed at the look on my face, though it didn't escape my notice that he was still gripping the steering wheel a little to tight. "Do you like the music?" I merely tipped a fake hat in his direction he faked mock anger "you're not playing this right." I smirked at him "well that's certainly not my intention, I'll try harder next time" We both laughed at my imitation of him as we pulled up at the restaurant. We went  in and sat down after a few minutes he looked over at me "know what you want to eat, hart?" I nodded "yeah. do you?" "Yep, what're you going to get to drink? they don't have Pepsi here" I looked down at the menu in disappointment seeing if he was just tying to mess with me, knowing Pepsi is my favorite pop, or if it was true. I frowned when I realized it was the latter. "I don't know" I answered sadly. He laughed "you have to be the only person I know who takes longer to think about what they want to drink than eat." I just looked up at him briefly before glancing back down at the menu "why don't you try sweet tea?" I raised an eyebrow "you're serious?"

Lucas' POV
I gave her an incredulous look "you can't come to the south without trying a sweet tea" "I could" she muttered. I stopped myself from laughing. She was stubborn, but it was likeable. It made her unpredictable which meant she always found a way to make me laugh. I instead kept up the pretense of our game "you could, but it's not advised" "if I get one will you stop bugging me?" I nodded. Soon enough our food and drinks were in front of us. We were silent as we began eating, and I began to look around noticing the many couples that were dancing together at the front. Her sweet tea still sat untouched. She ate half of her meal before she picked up the drink and took a sip. Her expression changed to one of happiness "this is amazing!!!" I laughed at her excitement "better than pepsi?" She gave me a hurt look "who can even think about pepsi right now??" Her tone implied I had betrayed sweet tea. She calmed down and went back to eating her meal. I decided now was the time to tell her the news I had been holding back since I told my friends I was traveling back to Texas this summer. "Maya, can we talk?" She looked perplexed "of course what's up?" Concern was evident in her tone. I began "I'm-" I hesitated trying to figure out the right way to tell her get it over with early. It'll be worse if you wait to tell her I heard Riley's voice saying the words in my head. I took a deep breath and went to continue but as I did the song playing changed to she will be loved by maroon five. Maya's face lit up, this was her favorite song. "Dance with me?" I knew that she hadn't meant for the words to escape. However, Maya hart doesn't put herself out there very often and I had to take advantage of this opportunity "of course" I grabbed her hand and we walked to the dance floor. After the dance we left and went back home. We were saying goodnight outside of her room when it crossed her thoughts again "what was it you wanted to tell me?" I flinched black at the reminder "nothing much. We're both exhausted. It can wait till tomorrow"
