Maya's POV

I set my paint brush down on the table, allowing myself to focus on the image I had been working on for the past 3 days while I had been in the guest room.  I hadn't really been paying attention I had just kind of let my hands paint whatever they wanted.  As I looked I realized it was the view from my window, but instead of clear, blue sky as what I seen at present, there were dark, ominous looking clouds. I tried to  think if it had stormed over the past three days, but I couldn't remember. I grabbed my phone and looked up the weather history. It had been nothing but beautiful the past week since we had arrived. I sighed.  I felt my phone go off, I opened it up and seen I had a text from Pappy Jo it read Want some food?  I texted back Please?  A noise somewhere between a hiss and a growl left my mouth due to my annoyance at myself. I knew I was being pathetic, but I just wasn't ready to face Lucas yet. It wasn't because the idea of separating at the end of summer was tearing me apart (though it definitely wasn't easy.)  It was that I didn't know how I was supposed to react. As a friend I should be supporting his decision and happy for him.  I mean, we all knew as much as Lucas enjoyed us as friends his heart was, and always would be, in Texas. But an even bigger part of me wanted him to come back to New York I knew if I told him not to stay here, my feelings would be out in the open and it was selfish of me to ask that of him. I groaned at the back and forth thought process that had consumed me for the past three days. There was a light knock on the door that I recognized as Pappy Jo's. I unlocked and opened the door. He handed me the tray "thank you." I told him. We both paused in silence as Lucas' voice carried to us from his room next door "great" his voice was a few octaves to high though. There was silence as lucas listened to the reply of whoever he was on the phone with. "not a problem" I went to shut and lock the door, but again I heard Lucas' voice "not exactly" I locked the door and went back to the bed where I had set the paints. About the time I finished my food I heard Lucas' door shut and his heavy footsteps descend the stairs. The sounds of some action movie playing in the living room downstairs floated up to my room. Bored with painting, I started drawing. By around 10 o'clock that night I was so bored I fell asleep. I woke up with the paper clipped to the canvas and my art pencil still in my hand. I looked at my phone and seen it was 9 A.M I sighed and, having nothing better to, started on the drawing again. I finished and picked out my outfit for the day and checked my phone again it was 12.  I heard the door open downstairs and watched Zay and Lucas feeding the animals on the farm from my window. After coming back in, they left and I smiled happily at not having to hide for a bit. I went and walked around the farm for a bit. Pappy Jo was cooking when I came back in "feels good to escape that room, huh?" I nodded somewhat embarassed but he just chuckled "I just finished making spaghetti, if you want some." "thank you" I put some in a bowl and went to take it back up to my room "he wont be back till midnight at the earliest, you don't have to worry." After eating I watched a movie, read a couple magazines and went outside to sit on the back porch and watch the sunset. I went back in and decided to heat up leftovers from lunch. I turned some music on in my headphones, but just left it playing lightly while I ate. This must have been why I missed the sound of Lucas and Farkle entering the house.

A/N again so sorry for the late update. I have already started the next chapter though. Thank You all for the continued support
