Lucas' POV
I sat down on a bench on the pier that faced away from the beach. I sat, just in my thoughts, for a few minutes before an older gentleman sat down next to me. "Who is she?" He questioned. "Excuse me?" I asked confused. He chuckled and replied "come on I know that look. I've worn that look many times I was married for 60 years to a woman named Chelsea" I noticed the past tense "what happened?" "She passed away from cancer 2 years ago" "I'm sorry to hear that" "thank you. Some days it feels like she is still here. It was hard when she passed but I wouldn't ever trade a moment with her." "She sounds like an amazing woman" I told him. He nodded in agreement. "I was a blessed man to have a woman like her. She taught me what it really means to be in love" "can I ask you something?" He smiled and nodded for me to ask my question. "How do you know when you've found the one? How did you know that you wanted to be with your wife forever?" "She was my best friend. The first one I wanted to tell everything and anything too. But she was also stunningly beautiful. No amount of time could have changed how beautiful she was to me. She was my world" "that's it?" I asked. He laughed "most people think love is complicated but it's surprisingly simple if you let it be" I just nodded absentmindedly distracted by my own thoughts "so what's the story with you and the woman who has you sitting here?" He questioned. "We got into a fight and I sent her back home to New York." My tone was sad as I said the words "but you feel bad and haven't stopped thinking about her since she left?" I shook my head. "You miss her" this time it wasn't a question but I nodded anyways. "Can I ask you something now?" He questioned. I nodded "if she's your girl, your Chelsea, why is she in New York and your here?"  "Because I'm not sure she is my Chelsea yet" I groaned at the return of the inner question that I had been trying to work out for the past week. "I don't want to overstep my boundaries but let me give you a piece of advice. Go get your woman"
