**ERIC'S POV**

I haven't seen Sophia in 2 weeks as I've been keeping my distance trying my best to get over her. It's not even working because when I try not to think about her I immediately start to think about every little detail about her. I've minimized my drinking to only 2 beers a day which is pretty good if I do say so myself.

I have indeed killed Corey, but other than that I haven't been that ruthless.

"Eric!" I hear someone yell from behind me. I turn around to see Max. I wait a second for him to catch up to me.

"What's up?" I ask.

"Listen, I sent Four to go scope out a rowdy section of the factionless. He told me specifically not to have you train Sophia for him today, but, I can't find anyone else. So, you are going to go train her for today and Four can deal with it," he explains.

"Ugh, Max I don't know if that's such a good idea."

"What? Are you scared Four is gonna beat you in a fight again?" He taunts me.

"Fuck off, Max," I scoff. He just shrugs his shoulders and raises his eyebrows, challenging my decision. "Ugh fine," I drag on.

"That's what I thought," he smiles in victory. "Now hurry up. Her lesson started 20 minutes ago." He ushers me off with a thanks and as I make my way to the training room I feel myself start to get anxious. My hands are sweating and my mind is racing.

I quickly compose myself as much as possible, swiftly open the door, and walk in to a beautiful brunette knocking the shit out of a punching bag.

Damn is she beautiful.

She turns to me and gives me a look I can't quite read. It reminds me of the time during initiation where she wanted more training lessons so we came here after dinner one night. But this time when I look at her, I see a stronger, fiercer, tougher woman that I want back so badly.

"What're you doing here? This is my training time," she says in a duh statement.

"Four went on a run for Max so I'm here to fill in," I can't help but let my eyes roam over her. I just want to hold her and kiss her and spend my life with her. She moves uncomfortably under my gaze.

"Ok well then let's get started," she says like she's trying to avoid any conversation at all.

"Ok... well. I don't know what you guys have been doing lately so fill me in," I start to make my way over to her.

"Basically just train and condition me. Then we work on knife throwing and shooting a gun. After lunch he teaches me all the rules and stuff."

"Ok so just go about what you'd normally do and I'll just cut in when I feel the need to."

She hesitates before she goes back to punching the bag.

"Did you stretch and warm up already?" I ask.

"You showed up half an hour late." Her eyes never leave the bag.

"I didn't know until like 10 minutes ago." She doesn't say anything back, just continues to punch and kick at the bag. "You've gotten better," I state. She again stays quiet and doesn't look at me, which breaks my heart. I messed up so badly.

"Have you and Four ever fought?" I ask her.

She stops and huffs, "My love life is none of your concern."

"No, I mean in training. Like you vs. him? On the mat?"

Her cheeks go red in embarrassment. "Oh. Um. No, not really."
