"So when they come down, Four will yell their name and you will record it next to the number jumper they are," explained Travis who hovered over my shoulder.

I nodded in understanding. It's finally time to get new initiates so I stand off to the side of the net whereas Four is right by it. He and I still haven't talked but we catch each others eyes every once in awhile.

I hear Eric's booming voice echo down the big hole. The initiates must have arrived. Then, all of a sudden a gray blob fell and hit the net. She huffed out a laugh and Four pushed down the side of the net to help her off.

When he grabbed her hand it's like time stopped all around us. They looked into each others eyes but I don't think Four's ever looked at me like this.

As if Four was slapped back to reality he spoke loud and harsh, "What'd you get pushed?" She shook her head. "What's you're name?"

"B-," she stuttered.

"Is that a hard one?" He asked.

"Tris," the little Abnegation smiled.

"First jumper, Tris!" Everyone yelled and cheered after Four made the big announcement. She walked away to wait for the others and the rest was a blur.

Once all the initiates, Max, and Eric had come back down, the Dauntless born went with Lauren and the transfers with me, Four, and Eric. Four led the group around the compound for a quick tour while Eric and I trailed behind. We would sneak glances at each other and his hand would brush against mine every now and then.

After the tour and our quick lunch we headed for the training room to start training.

"I'm Four. I'll be your trainer. Over there is Sophia, also your trainer, and you already know Eric," Four mumbled the last part waving over at us. "You will respect us and you will respect your peers because one slip up and we will not hesitate to throw you out," he warned.

Four went on explaining it all and he started off with combat skills. Eric and I walked around correcting their stances.

"Here," I helped a Candor, "Don't keep your hands too high, you're over committing yourself. Your opponent can easily hit your stomach from here."

"Thanks," he gives me a nod.

I move on and peek at Eric. He gives a slight smile and a nod to me.

I peek over at Four and he's got one hand on the Stiff's stomach and the other on her lower back. Their faces are close and he speaks quietly.

I look back to his hands and see he took the ring off. So I guess it's a mutual decision.

"Getting a little handsy over there," Eric mumbles from behind me. When I turn to look at him he's got a smug smile on his face.

"I'm happy for him," I say and his smile fades.

"Yeah whatever," he rolls his eyes and walks away.

Once us trainers have seen enough Eric explains how the rankings work and then they are dismissed.

I quickly walk out, avoiding both boys and head to Sam's for dinner.

"Hey Sam!" I yell walking in.

"Hey!" He appears in the doorway of his bedroom.

"Why are you always in your room?" I ask.

"It's where I spend most of my time," he winks at me.

I blush and shove his shoulder. I walk over to his fridge and take out a slice of pizza. Man do I love me some pizza.

"So how was training today? How are the new initiates?" Sam asks.
