*Kylo Rens pov

I went to get her at eight o'clock the next morning.

She immediately opened the door, already dressed in black and hair done up in her signature three buns.

"Good you got the wake up memo." I said, the mask distorting all emotion out of my voice.

She nodded enthusiastically. "Ya whoever that was knocking on my door for the wake up wasn't satisfied until I answered it and promised to immediately get ready!"

I laugh. "Probably my doing, they're all terrified of me."

She looks at me sadly. "So you don't have any friends here?"

"Nope." I say "Follow me."

"Why do you were your helmet so often?"

"It gives me more control over the people I'm in charge of. And, as a bonus it covers up a big nasty scar."

"Ya," she said "I'd tell you that I'm sorry about that, but I'm not. So ya know..."

Yes, I would know about inducing injuries and not feeling the most tiny bit of regret.

"So," she said cautiously "Why did you turn?"

I was silent for a moment. "You'll know soon enough."

"Great! What are we doing again today?" she asked.

"Training."

She grunts. "What kind?"

I thought about it for a second, considering doing combat, but not wanting to face the chance of hurting her. "Interrogation." I finally decided.

"What's there to learn in that category?" I hear her quietly say, not intended for me, but the mask helps me hear those kinds of things.

I lead her into a big room off to the left. The black walls and ceilings make everything here seem dreary.

She looks around the room "What are we going to learn about extracting information in here?"

I begin pacing back and forth in front of Rey. "Over the years I've learned many things with the force. Stopping blaster shots. Inducing sleep." I stop pacing and look at her. "Reading thoughts."

"With Master-I mean just Luke, I touched on the subject of watching and experiencing one's memories, but I've never even considered actually seeking the person's thoughts out," she replied in wonder.

I smile beneath the helmet "Yes."

She is still staring at me in wonder when I take off the helmet and toss it to her. She looks at it skeptically before placing it in the corner of the room.

"The first thing you need how to do is shield your own mind. Imagine building a wall of darkness. I'm going to go into your mind and I want you to cut me off."

"Okay." she said looking at me nervously.

I tried to nod encouragingly before I dove in.
