*Rey's pov
We exited the whole in the ground that had served as our exit, and found ourselves in the middle of the battle. Stormtrooper fired in large groups-squads- advancing on foot towards the resistance fighters who popped up from behind a hastily made barricade to shoot at the First Order's troops.
"I thought we were supposed to advance from behind?" I yelled into the radio that I held in a death grip.
"So did I, but, as you can see, we've had a change of plans." Luke's voice came through strained.
"Oh no," I said quietly, then louder and to Ben: "Luke's fighting! He's gonna get himself killed! We've gotta go help! Let's go."
I go to take a step, but a strong hand grips my arm, stopping me in place.
"No, Rey!" Ben said. "We have to stay here and help get our soldiers out of this chaos! They can handle themselves for a while. Luke might be old, but he's more than capable than holding his own."
"I know." I mumbled, hearing the truth in his voice. "It's just-"
"I know, he's like Han Sol- my father was to you. A wonderful father figure who you look up to and love." His brown eyes seem to bore into my soul.
"Okay," I say, breaking eye contact. "Alright let's go!" I yell to the troops, and ripped my arm out of his grasp.
They follow me, guns gripped between white fingers, dodging troopers, to a lower section in the barricade wall, which we jump.
Once again, I feel Ben's fingers grip my arm with vigor.
"Let go, would ya?" I ask annoyed, and shake my arm attempting to shake him off. His iron fingers don't budge in the slightest. "What's wrong?" I look up to see his face drained of blood, and eyes wide.
"The nights." He whispers.
And sure enough, I feel the ghastly presence emanating from the approaching fleet of First Order ships.
"They've come for me."
