Rey's pov

I breath in the musty air, shaking in anticipation. A group of soldiers along with Ben and I sit in an underground bunker, from which when Luke contacts us we will emerge and attack from the flank.

A small burst of static emanates from the radio in my hand from which Luke's voice follows. He only says two words, but they send my blood running cold in fear.

"They're approaching."

A hand grabs  mine. Ben. I can't see him in the darkness of the shelter, for there're no windows or peep-holes. His palms are damp with a cold sweat, and his muscles taunt.

It'll be alright. I reassure him.

I feel him nod next to me.

The ground above our head shakes, sending fragments of dirt sprinkling down on us, and I hear our group shifting uneasily, nervously. No one moves for the next five, ten, twenty minutes, afraid that the smallest movement would send the already tedious ceiling down. When the next burst of static arises from the radio, I sense our entire crowd jump, Ben and I included.

"Thank you for scaring the living daylights out of us, Luke." I whisper harshly into the speaker.

He chuckles. "You're welcome!" And his voice turns serious. "Are your people ready?"

The chores of "yes"s is barely audible for me to hear, but I do, and relay the answer to him.

"Good, because we're ready for you."

Ben's pov

Fear and panic grip my body, tightening every muscle and quickening my breathing. I don't want to go. But this thought is selfish, of coarse I will go. I will go and fight for everything I love. I will fight for everything I've lost. I will fight for my father, and make him proud of me. Determination overtakes the worry, and yes, I am still scared, there cannot me bravery without it, but the motivating kind. I'm not scared of dying myself, but of the pain the war will inflict. The loss of a loved one or a nation.

We will not loose this fight. I promise Rey, turning my determination to stone.

Of coarse we won't. She replied.

Yes, I know, short. But I thought it only fair that you receive two updates in two days as an apology for being gone for so long. Because of this chapter's excruciating shortness I am expecting maybe one or two more chapters than previously planned.

Something that I've noticed this last couple of days while reading fanfic, is that everyone has a different style of writing through out all of their pieces. Kinda cool huh. :)
