*Ben's pov

I watched, fighting as she said to, but not being able to even twitch my own finger as Snoke strangled my mother.

Snoke laughs, and laughs. Fury burns in my bones and my arm twitches, signaling my success the in beginning of winning control once again.

Suddenly, Rey plows me over and I've never been so glad to dislocate my knee in my life. And the cry of pain that escapes me, exites me more, as evidence of my new found control.

Rey punches me, keeping my body in check as Snoke tries to get up, and I fall over again. What really sucks about having something like Snoke control you, is that he can do whatever he wants to to you and won't feel the pain that you're feeling. That's why I was so exited when the cry of pain escaped me. It couldn't have been him.

"Fight him, Ben!" Rey screams, sending another punch to my torso.

"I'm trying!" I yell back and surprise us both.

Snoke's gone. But I know he'll be back. In the most inconvenient time.

Rey must have realized that I was free, because she ran up and raps her arms around my neck. I hastly push her away and before I can see the hurt in her eyes, scramble over to my mom.

"Mom?" I pull her onto my lap. She slightly stirs, sending a wave of reassurance through me, but doesn't stop the tears of remorse from flowing down my cheeks.

The first time I'd cried in years was earlier this week in the training room with Rey and now for the second time, here I was. Thoughts of the light connected to weakness flash through my mind but I push them away with a resolve to take care of the woman currently in my arms.

I stand up, still holding her, and make my way, stumbling down the hall to the base hospital.

"Can I do anything to help?" Rey asks, quickly walking besides me to match my pace.

I glance at her. "Mabey run ahead and warn the medics."

She nods once and sprints down the hall.

The trek from where I stand to where the infirmary is, seemed like an eternity, but the moment I walked through the doors, I was rushed by medics is light blue garbs and gloves. They take my mom from my arms and place her on a little bed on wheels and rush her to a room off in the corner.

I collapse into a chair closest to me and bury my head in my hands, flinching at the pain in my fingers but not pulling away. Not a minute goes by before I hear someone sit down next to me, and feel a gentle hand on my back.

"You won." Rey says simply.

I snort. "Just this once. And he will be back. I feel it."

"Well," she sighs "enjoy your freedom while it lasts."

I don't replie and she gently lifts her hand from my back, and pulls mine away from my face, exposing my view to her. She smiles and tilts my face slightly up with one hand and wipes my face with a warm washcloth to get rid of the blood, staring at my forehead and traveling down my cheek. I'm staring at her as she cleans my face and she must sense it because she looks at me, smiles and kisses the tip of my nose.

"We'll work through this together."

I nod and she proceeds to clean and bandage my hands.
