*Laura's P.O.V.*

My name is Laura Jimenez and I'm 14. Its already 7:40 and my bestfriend Calum isn't here yet. Shool starts at 7:50. I'm outside my house on the bottom stairs waiting for him. I decide I'll just go by myself I can't be late for the first day of school. I get up and start walking down the street towards school. Its really cold in the morning, but then it gets really hot in the afternoon. I zip up my grey sweater. I'm wearing a white collared shirt and navy blue shorts.I hate the uniform policy at our school. I keep walking. I wonder what my teachers are like? I hope me and Calum are in the same class. We're usally in the same class. Right when im about to cross the street to school, when I hear someone yell my name. I turn around to see Calum running towards me.

"Where have you been?" I said walking towards him. He stopped in front of me trying to catch his breathe.

"I *breathe* over *breathe* slept *breathe*"

"Oh Calum. I told you to put an alarm." I said angrily.

" I'm sorry I just forgot. Sorry." he said looking at me with those pleading, brown eyes.

"Fine. Come on lets get to school," I said as we crossed the street to school.

"I wonder who our teachers are going to be" I said as i looked at him.

" Me too. I really hope we're in the same class," he said with a smile.

"Haha me too." I said while taking out my phone to look at the time.

When we got to the entrance there weren't any students crowding the school. We went up the stairs and entered. There weren't any students around. It looked abondoned.

"Calum, do you think we're late?" i asked at him starting to get nervous.

"I don't know. Let me check my phone," he said while talking out his phone and looking at the time. He froze and looked at the phone then at me.

"What!" i said getting nervous.

"8:50," he said still shocked.

"What! We are so late. What are we going to do?We missed the assembly. How are we going to know what class to go to?" i said starting to freak out.

He chuckled. "What this isnt funny we are really late," i said looking at him, confused.

He started to crack up. He held his stomch because he was laughing really hard.

" Why are you laughing?!" i said confused.

"Laura, Im kidding its 7:48," he said then laughed again.

I sighed. "Don't play with me like that. Ever!" i said while slapping his arm.

" You should have seen your face whe i told you," he said while laughing.

I let out a groan of anger."Haha ok ok im calm now," he said while walking to the auditorium with me.

To my relief there were a bunch of other students crowding the auditorium. We sat on some benches near the auditorium. I looked at all the students looking for my second bff Alicia. I cant find her to many students, but I'm still looking.

*Calums P.O.V.*

We sat down on the benches and stayed quiet. She seemed to be searching for someone through the crowd of students. I stared at her looking at her beautiful face. I admit i like her. Not just cause of her looks but because she is really funny and nice. We've been best friends since kinder. I never saw her in any other way than a friend, but i started likeing her in 6th and we're in 8th so yeah. I know what your thinking why haven't aked her out yet. Well I think about stuff too much. Like what if she rejects me? What if she hates me after? If I ask her then our friendship will be gone and i don't want that. I like being her friend and I cant ruin that.

She looked at me and waved a hand across my face snapping me out of my thoughts.

"Calum?"she said.

"Huh?"i said.

"Why are you staring at me?" she asked.

"Umm i was staring? Ooops sorry i was thinking." i said with a smile

"haha ok?" she said and turned around.

"Umm-" i said before being inturuppted by Alicia.

"Laura! I missed you so much!" she said and hugged her.

"I missed you too!," she and hugged her back. I just stood there akwardly. I didnt know Alicia very much. I met her last year. She was nice but i felt weird around her I dont why. I stayed quiet.

"Calum!" she said and hugged me.

"Alicia!" i yelled in the same tone.

"haha how you guys been?"she asked.

"Great," said Laura and smiling.

"Alright" i said softly i dont think she heard me.

"How about you? I didnt see you all summer," Laura asked making a pouting face.

"Sorry i went to New York all summer to visit my aunt and she didnt let me touch the computer," she said.

"Thats messed up!" Laura yelled.

"I know but i had fun with my cousins," she finished.

They kept talking until the bell rang and the auditorium doors opened. I sat down on the bench and looked at the floor i felt ignored. I felt someone sit next to me, but i ignored it.

"Calum? Are you ok?" Laura asked with a tone of worry.

"I'm fine," thats when i noticed Alicia was gone and i realxed.

"Come lets get to the assembly," she said and smiled.

*Laura's P.O.V.*

Today was a good day at school. Me in Calum were in the same classes which im glad. I'm gad that school is over. I'm at home on my couch. I finished homework when i got home so im free all day. I was watching teenage mutant ninja turtles. I know im too old for the show but i love it! I got up to go get some chips when my phone rang. "Hello?" i asked not even bothering to look at the caller ID. "Hi honey how did school go?" my mom asked. "Good hows work?"i asked still looking for chips.

"Great. Oh i have to go ill be home soon. Call Calum so you dont get lonely. Bye." she said and hung up.

I was getting a little lonely so i called Calum to come over. He lived 2 houses down my street so he would be here in no time.

I found my chips and sat on the couch. In ten minutes my bell rang. Calum.
