"Why did you do it, Sage? Why did you hurt us like that?" He cried. His eyes were blood red. The bags under them were a blueish purple. What have I done to him? I didn't want to ruin him like this. Did I hurt her as badly as I hurt him? Who will tell me, she's gone now. It's way too late, Sage. You ruined everything already. "She's gone, you ruined everything!" He yelled at the wall, but the words were for me. I'm so worthless, I sucked the last bit of life out of him. His hands grabbed for his hair and tugged at the roots. That's what I always saw him doing, pulling his hair, freaking out, hurting inside with no remedy to ease the pain I inflicted. "Sorry doesn't bring her back, Sage. Do you think we live in a movie? No, Sage, get it to your head, there is no happy ending. She's gone!" He screamed. He fell to his knees and held his head in between his hands. I felt it piercing through my skin right into my heart. I saw the darkness take over him and I couldn't do anything about it. His cries, his screams, his nightmares, his rage. I couldn't do anything about them. Look at him and feel the guilt, Sage. This is what you deserve for shattering the man's heart. You're a worthless piece of crap, never forget that, Sage. We didn't travel anymore, we didn't have fun conversations, didn't smile to each other. We were not what we should've been till death parts us. I was not his lovely daughter and he was not the loving father. "I am moving out next month." I said cautiously. I didn't want to cut deeper into the wounds. "Good."
I shake myself out of my sleep. My breathing is irregular. My cheeks are wet because of the tears and my body is soaking as well. Nightmares, how amazing. "Oh my god!" I jump out of my bed as quickly as I can. I'm late for work! I quickly put on a random decent looking outfit. My boss is going to kill me. I run to the bathroom, skip brushing my teeth and skip doing my hair as well and I only check out my chest to see if the wound is actually gone. It is, what the hell? I have no time to think about that though, I need to get to work, now! My breakfast is skipped as well when I make it to the front door. I put on my shoes and grab my bag and my phone. I guess today we are going to be jogging to work. Great. I head out of my apartment and start jogging over to the forest. I nearly get hit by a car, but I don't have time to care about that so I just continue jogging until I reach the forest. I jog my way through, not paying attention to my surroundings and I nearly fall over a huge root, but I manage to keep myself on my feet. When I check the time I speed up a little. My shift started about half an hour ago. This can't be happening, he's going to fire me. I jog out of the forest so I still have about two blocks of jogging to go before I arrive to my work. How did that wound dissapear, how did Wolfey do that? No Sage, not now. You're going to lose your job, focus.
I enter the building and the first person I come across is Becka. Screw me. When she sees me her venomous smirk forms itself on her lips. I am out of breath and I probably look like a tomato, so I'm expecting to hear a comment about that. "Damn Raven, you like you might explode. Oh, that's so funny because you know who might explode too?" Her annoying voice chants. I wish I could rip out her vocal chords. "George... He's been looking for you and he doesn't look all too happy about your absence." She says with a fake smile. Die, please. Her eyes travel from my face to the rest of my body and her smirk slowly fades. She then turns away and goes to whereever she was supposed to be. Oh what bitch, are my clothes not good enough for you? I try to control my breathing and arrange my clothes a little. Maybe I do look a bit like a hobo, but hey I overslept, understand me. I also just realized I have no makeup on. I must look like a walking dead. I quickly head towards the restroom to apply a little bit on, but on my way I come across the man I wasn't ready to face yet. George.
He looks at me with a frown across his face. Oh boy. "Uhh, hey George. How are you today?" I try to save myself with some smooth talk, but I know it won't work on him. I can basically just leave now and save myself the embarrassment. His frows deepens as his gaze sharpens and I'mhonestly scared to say another word, but my dumb, persistent self makes its way through my fears. "I'm so sorry. It's just that I overslept, because I had a really tough day yesterday and I think I forgot to put my alarm clock on and I really need this job, so please don't -" I nervously ramble, but he cuts me off. "Sage, go clean yourself up before you start cleaning anything else." His voice is firm and what he says confuses me. "You're not firing me?" I ask. "No, but you will have to work overtime today. Now go, before I change my mind." He states and I obey to his words. I immediately head towards the restroom to 'clean myself up' just like he asked me to. It may sound really harsh, but this is literally the nicest he has ever been to me. Only Becka gets the privilege of his kindness. Jeez, I'm not fired.
