Alex's girlfriend and Luke keep staring at each other and I raise my eyebrows. Does no one else see what's going on here? I'm starting to doubt our relationship, I mean, he still hasn't been completely honest about Emelia and now this girl in front of us is concerning me too. She looks really friendly and all but what is going on between her and Luke? Could this actually be Emelia? Oh my god...

"Oh! Right! This is Alice, my girl." Alex states proudly and I stifle a giggle as well as a sigh of relief. At least she's not Emelia. Poor thing, she's pretty much been invisible up till now. It's so cute how he's so proud that his 'girl' is his and no one else's. The individual standing in front of me waves and greets us, loudly might I add. When I first saw Alice, I thought she would be all quiet and shy but, guess not. She runs a hand through her bright green hair, turning slightly nervous after her loud encounter. I watch her shift her weight on her other leg, standing awkwardly while anxiously watching Luke. Alex senses her nervousness and slings an arm around her shoulders, causing her to shiver and I stifle a laugh as I can relate to that action. All Luke's touch does to me is make me shiver.

Alice continues to watch Luke and he clears his throat, wincing a little. Alice looks away and Alex and I meet eyes, exchanging confused glances. Alex shrugs and speaks up, "How about writing that music, hm?"

Wait a second! Alice, Alice, Alice. That name sounds extremely familiar, why? I've never met Alice before but the name does ring a bell... Oh my god. Oh my god! No. She can't be? Is she really Luke's ex? It would all make sense, the way she looked so shaken after seeing him and how they kept watching each other. It must be awkward to see your ex after all this time and see them with someone else too. I guess that's exactly what Brandon had to suffer through but the only difference, he deserves it.

"Sure," Luke says, "I'm just not sure what to write about..."

"Mmmmm," Zack, the bassist and backing vocalist intervenes.

"What was it you said before when we first got here?" Rian asks curiously.

"I love making music here?"

"No, the other thing," Rian states.

"I come here to tune out the static sound of the city?" Luke asks, clearly unsure of where this conversation is supposed to be leading to.

"Yes! What about if we write a song about how society is always so caught up in everything else that they don't even see the beauty of what is happening around them?" Alex suggests, his face lighting up with enthusiasm as he explains his idea to everyone. Alice's face takes on a huge grin as well as she squeezes Alex, showing her love for the suggestions also.

"That's great!" Luke exclaims, showing his appreciation for Alex coming up with having such a great intention for the song. He immediately starts to write down notes in his song book which he just happened to bring.

"And make sure you include lyrics that talk about how you feel different when you're with that someone; how the world seems unusual," Alex adds as he slowly makes his way to one of the rocks near the edge of the cliff, looking out across the horizon. Alice smiles dreamily, watching Alex, probably thinking about how fortunate she is.

"Yes, that's great too..." Luke trails off, quickly sitting down while writing everything that leaves Alex's mouth down.

We're are all still crowded around Luke and his notebook, coming up with ideas for Disconnected, as we've decided to call it, when Alex stands up. He stretches out his lanky frame and walks uneasily to the rock he was at earlier, picking up small stones along the way and tossing them over the lip of the rock face. Once he's sat down, he gazes over the group and his eyes land on me as he flicks his head, motioning for me to come over. I do as he says and sit next to him, noticing that everyone else hasn't even realized that we've left.
