I had decided to tell Harry everything. Sirius Black, my new bestowed guardianship, everything. But where was he?Once I make it to the common room I see Hermione by the window studying. As I make my way to her I see her slight look of shock.
I smile kindly "Hermione, would you mind telling me where Harry is?" She looked at me skeptically before she smiles brightly "he's at the covered bridge speaking with professor Lupin."
I look at her curiously before nodding. Why was she acting like that?
As I make it to the bridge I only see Harry so I rush over to him. "Harry I-" it was only then did I see Remus beside him. He had looked exhausted. The full moon was fast approaching and you could see it was taking a toll on him.
"I'm sorry, if you two are still taking-"
"No, it's fine we were just finishing up" Harry says quickly. I nod as Remus takes the hint and begins to walk away. "I'll be in my room if you need me."
He takes one last glance at me before walking away.
"Harry-"
"I already know what your going to say. I know all about Sirius Black." I was about to ask him why when it hit me. His invisibility cloak, of course. "How long did you stay?"
"To the part about that man being my godfather." I could tell he was thinking the same things I had thought. He had betrayed one of his best friends.
"Harry, as bad as this is, it doesn't change anything. Your still the same boy you used to be and your parents were the same people they used to be. This is just another bump in the road, and you will move on from this."
He still looked a little sad but nodded. "Now, let's talk about what I came here for."
"I know you don't want me. I won't be some burden on you." I look to see he's serious. "Harry, it was never a question if I was going to become your guardian. The question was wether you wanted me or not." He turned to look at me with wide, hopeful eyes.
"You will be entering a world you have no idea of, soon. I personally know what it like to go out on your own. And the only person I had to help me out, was a lawyer I paid. I don't want that to be you.
Look, I may not be the most qualified person. But if your willing, I would be honored to become your guardian."
He smiles brightly and brings me into a bone crushing hug. "I'm guessing that's a yes?"
He chuckles "yes." I nod and let him go "I guess I'll get the papers this weekend, and speak with my lawyer and the ministry."

"Rough day?" I give Remus a look that easily answers the question."You want to talk about it?"
I sigh "which part? The part where Harry found out Sirius Black was his godfather, or the part where he gave me legal custody of Harry?"
"Sirius gave you custody over Harry?" He says, eyes wide. " Exactly!"
"How is that even possible?" I shrug "he wrote in his Will specifically, that if something were to happen and Harry was in his custody, that he be with me."
He looked at a loss for words. Almost like he should've known this.
"How is he even able to do this? I haven't even met the man and he is dead set on being a pain in the ass! How did girls even want to be with him when he was younger? He must've been really handsome, because that is all he got! He is just so infuriating! And why do you keep laughing at me!"
I turn to Remus as he tries to contain his chuckles. "I'm not laughing" he says standing up, and still laughing. He sees the frown on my face and walks over to me. Taking a deep breath he says "okay I'm done, honest ."
I roll my eyes "how could someone like you be friends with a git like him." He raises an eyebrow "someone like me?"
"You know someone so kind and generous."
"You forgot monster" he mumbles bitterly, turning his head slightly. I grab his chin so he was now facing me "hey, you are not a monster. You will never be a monster, not in my eyes."
He sighed "how can you say that?"
"How can I not? Remus you fold your socks, forgive me if I'm not trembling at the sight." He manages to break a smile. "What do you plan on doing for Christmas?"
I shrug "well, I have to spend Christmas Eve at Malfoy manor. Then I will have dinner with the Weasley's. What about you?"
Remus looks down giving me a small smile. "Finish grading everything I guess" he chuckles.
"You won't be spending Christmas with anyone?" I asked curiously. I mean, surely he would spend it with someone. Christmas is a time when we all put our biased ways behind us for one day and enjoy ourselves with friends and family.
"Not this year, don't give me that look Amelia. I'm a grown man I'll be fine by myself." He was putting on a brave face, but you could tell he was lonely.
No one deserves to spend Christmas alone.
